Matuidi's France defeat Can's Germany in the Nations League, whilst Alex Sandro's Brazil overcome Dybala's Argentina

World Champions, France took another step towards Nations League Semi-final qualification with a 2-1 victory over Germany at the Stade de France.

After falling behind to a first half Toni Kroos penalty, Les Bleus got back into the match on 62 minutes when Antoine Griezmann headed home. 10 minutes from time a penalty was awarded to France, after Mats Hummels tripped Blaise Matuidi in the box. Griezmann kept his cool to fire in from the spot and complete the comeback.

Matuidi played the full 90 for the home side, whilst Emre Can was an unused substitute for the encounter.

Elsewhere, Brazil defeated Argentina 1-0 in a friendly taking place in Saudi Arabia. Alex Sandro was on the bench for the Selecao, whilst Paulo Dybala started the game, before being forced off on 58 minutes. The match looked to be heading for a goalless draw before Miranda popped up with a goal in the 93rd minute.

Finally, Rodrigo Bentancur was involved in a thrilling friendly for Uruguay, who lost 4-3 to Japan in Saitama.
