It was another game and another win for Juve with their victory over Cagliari but they needed nothing less after Napoli and Inter had both won their games, says Medhi Benatia. “It was important to win and get back to winning ways at home,” the 31-year-old began. “The teams behind us – Napoli, Inter and AC Milan – aren't slowing down at all so we can't afford to let up ourselves. “Now we have two days to rest and prepare for Wednesday's game against Manchester United."

The Moroccan defender was speaking after making a crucial block to deny Cagliari an equaliser with the scores at 2-1, shortly before Juan Cuadrado made it 3-1. “I got lucky there,” Benatia admitted. “Then [Cristiano] Ronaldo did brilliantly to set up Juan and we got the result in the bag. “We could have scored earlier but Cagliari are a decent side and every team plays the game of their lives when they come to our place. We're pleased with the three points – it's what we wanted.”
