Comments from the Bianconeri after the Champions League match against Man United

Read what the Bianconeri had to say after Wednesday's Champions League Matchday 4 fixture against Manchester United.

      GIORGIO CHIELLINI

“We should have killed the game off because we played really well. If we want to get to the final in Madrid at the end of the season, we have to learn from tonight because it comes down to the small details. We should have won this game comfortably.

“We're still in the mix and it's better to lose now than further down the line but we must do better. It will bring us down a peg or two. This sort of thing had been in the air for a few games and we botched up big time tonight.”

      CRISTIANO RONALDO

"The Champions League is a special competition. You can’t let yourself get distracted, even when you’re winning. We dominated for the 90 minutes. We had two or three clear chances and we should have been able to put the game to bed with ease, but we paid for switching off. It’s never nice to lose, but maybe this defeat comes at the best possible time. We have a great team, we’re top of the group and I’m sure we’ll go through as group winners."

      JUAN CUADRADO

"We’re disappointed with the defeat. We'd produced a great performance – we created lots of chances but weren’t able to take advantage of them, while they scored from two set plays in the last five minutes. We need to stay calm and work on improving, but we can’t allow these things to happen. You need to stay focused in the Champions League because the smallest things can change games. Thankfully this defeat has happened now and not in the quarter-finals…"

      MIRALEM PJANIC

"It’s a shame. We were dominating, looking like the better side and managing the game. We weren’t able to put the game away and it’s a shame we didn’t score more goals. The same goes for the previous game, because we were better than the opposition. Unfortunately we’ve lost, but we’re still top of the group and we want to stay up there. Let’s hope we can learn from this."
