Allegri: “We played well tonight but it’s a long season”

Massimiliano Allegri offered his thoughts on proceedings after Juventus’ 3-1 win over Napoli on Saturday evening: “We played well, against a good Napoli side, although we made a lot of tactical errors in the first period of the match. “It was very good play from Cristiano Ronaldo on the first goal and, from that moment, we improved. “It did annoy me however that we basically stopped playing when we were 11 against 10. We could have tried to get the ball forward but we didn’t - plus they could well have equalised through Jose Callejon.”

When asked about Cristiano and Paulo Dybala, the coach said: “Ronaldo is enjoying himself and doing well. He’s producing lots of assists and tonight he played his best game for us, alongside the 30 minutes he played against Valencia. We need to do better to find him. “As for Paulo, he did well tonight, especially in midfield. He’s excellent at starting and finishing off bits of play. I only took him off because I need him fresh for Tuesday, given that Cristiano won’t be playing.” Looking forward to the rest of the Bianconeri’s season, he added: “We still need to improve. We are still making errors of judgement. Let’s not forget that we’ve got a lot of clashes with our title rivals still to play – there are a certain number of games you need to win.”
