The wait for the Juventus fans to see Cristiano Ronaldo celebrating a goal in the famous black-and-white shirt is well and truly over following the forward’s brace against Sassuolo. To Allianz Stadium’s delight, the goals proved to be the difference as Juve secured a 2-1 win to take all three points on Sunday.

"I’m really happy," said Ronaldo after the game. "Sassuolo played well, but we showed good intensity and created a lot of chances. I wanted to score, but the most important thing is to perform well and win matches."

Ronaldo acknowledged the high expectations surrounding his arrival in Turin, but stressed that he is feeling at home at his new club.

"Of course there was a lot of attention on my move to Turin, but that’s life," he said. "I’m happy, I’m working hard and my team-mates are really helping me to adapt to this league."

The Portuguese also admitted that he is looking forward to the return of the Champions League on Wednesday.

"It’s the competition I love the most," he said. "I hope we get a bit of luck. We don’t have an easy group, but I can’t wait."
