Juventus Women and Brescia meet again this Wednesday. Serie A’s top two teams, tied on 54 points with two league fixtures remaining, are also vying for this season’s Coppa Italia.

This quarter-final, which kicks off at 17.00 CEST on the Ale & Ricky Pitch in Vinovo, is a one-off tie. Hence, should the teams still be level after 90 minutes, the match will go straight to penalties in order to determine who reaches the semi-finals.

BIANCONERE VS BRESCIA FOR THE 3RD TIME

It has been an enthralling title race between Juventus Women and Brescia, who are still tied at the top of the Serie A table on 54 points apiece.

Rita Guarino’s girls came out on top in their first ever league meeting back in December, recording a comprehensive 4-0 victory away from home. When the Bianconere hosted their rivals in Vinovo in mid-April, Brescia it was who collected all three points by edging a 2-1 win.

Both teams lost the weekend afterwards, Juventus Women falling to Fiorentina and Brescia to Atalanta Mozzanica, but both sides picked themselves up at the weekend with the Bianconere beating Ravenna Woman and Brescia winning away to Res Roma.

In short, everything is poised perfectly for their third meeting of the season, albeit in a different competition.

ROUTE TO THE QUARTER-FINALS

Juventus Women reached the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia by hammering Novese 8-0 on 21 March, a match in which midfielder Arianna Caruso scored a hat-trick.

Prior to that, the Bianconere beat Juventus Torino 2-0 and Torino 21-0 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Brescia booked their place in the final eight courtesy of a 5-1 victory over Inter Milano, following comfortable wins in the previous rounds against Azalee (7-0) and Riozzese (10-0 on aggregate).

Lying in wait in the next round is the winner between AGSM Verona and Tavagnacco.
