The Bianconere ran out 2-1 winners at Vinovo this afternoon against Swiss side Lugano, despite having trailed for much of the game.

Following a goalless first half, the visitors opened the scoring early into the second when Cara Curtin pulled away from the Juve defence and kept her cool one-on-one with Federica Russo to give the away side the lead.

Juventus Women rallied and their hard work paid off in the 85th minute, when the ball came to Valentina Cernoia in space on the left-hand side of the box and the Italian winger rifled home to even the scores.

Then in stoppage time Barbara Bonansea hit the post with a low-drive, the ball came back out to the Italian winger and she put a follow-up into the box that Englishwoman, Leanne Sanderson turned home to complete the comeback for the Bianconere!

MATCH REACTION

Rita Guarino: "It was a tough match that proved to be a difficult test for us at this stage in pre-season, however I'm glad that it turned out to be like this. Games like this are useful tests for the new arrivals and will enhance their characteristics. The girls have started to form a strong group already, and we are going on the right path for a season that will be challenging."

Valentina Cernoia: "It was a goal that we sought after and worked hard to get. We're on the right track and we can take away a lot of positives. The new signings have started very well."
