The coach's verdict after victory against Udinese: “We used all of the pitch well and afforded the opposition very little. We're shifting the ball more quickly and not rushing moves”

Massimiliano Allegri hailed Juventus' win against Udinese as one of the best of the season after watching his side completely outplay the hosts.

The Bianconeri may only have won 2-0 on the night but the result was never in any doubt and the scoreline would have been far greater had Simone Scuffet not been in such impressive form.

“That was one of our best performances of the season so far – perhaps the absolute best,” the boss claimed after the final whistle.

“We used all of the pitch well and afforded the opposition very little all game. I asked the lads to give me a relaxing international break and to keep a clean sheet. There was a risk we might have let up a little today after nine wins but we played with great maturity.

“We're improving our possession play. We're shifting the ball around more quickly and not rushing moves as much as we used to.

“We defended well and we were excellent up front. We're stringing moves together well and the three forwards are doing a good job of taking up different positions. We have some very skilful players and we're in good physical shape but we still welcome the break.”

The coach had words of praise for Joao Cancelo and Rodrigo Bentancur. provider and scorer of Juve's first goal.

“Cancelo is a fabulous player from a technical point of view. In the first half he got caught out a couple of times because he relies on his pace a bit too much. That's something he needs to work on but overall he had a great game today.

“Bentancur played very well in a slightly more advanced midfield role. I'm happy with him.”
