First the first time, Juventus travels to the Stadio "Vigorito" in Benevento on Saturday for a 15.00 kick-off against Benevento. It's the first time that the Bianconeri will play in the town with a capacity of about 60,000, but certainly not the last time Juve has played in the region of Campania.

Of course, the team that comes to mind when you think of Campania is Napoli who have won 23 of 72 matches at home against Juve with 27 draws and 22 Bianconeri victories.

SALERNITANA AND AVELLINO

The only other two teams from Campania to have made it to the top flight to face Juventus are Salernitana who the Bianconeri drew 0-0 in 1948 and lost to 1-0 in 1999. The club has faced Avellino a few more times...

In Irpinia, Juventus has drawn five times and added two wins, both in the 80s. On 20 September 1981, Virdis scored in the 18th minute to earn a win at the "Partenio" Stadium while on the 31 December 1983, Juve earned a 2-1 win thanks to a Platini goal in the 14th minute and a match-winner from Penzo in the 86th minute. IN COPPA ITALIA...

Four times the Bianconeri have faced Avellino with the Bianconeri advancing each time in 1974, 1981, 1988(after a replay) and 1995.

Juventus has also faced Cavese in Coppa Italia playing the match in Benevento and against Nocerina in the 1996/97 edition.
