A strong second half display saw Juventus Women run out 0-4 winners at Stadio Olivieri against Hellas Verona. Tuija Hyyrynen opened the scoring in the first half, while goals from Girelli, Pedersen and Staskova after the break saw the Bianconere claim an emphatic win.

Following last weekend’s impressive 5-1 win over Inter, Rita Guarino opted to make a few changes to her line-up by resting Sara Gama and Valentina Cernoia. Cecilia Salvai stood in place of the captain, while Caruso slotted into the midfield spot usually occupied by Cernoia.

Juventus’ first chance of the game saw them denied by the woodwork: Bonansea delivered in a great cross into the box for Zamanian, who shot in a great curling effort that struck the woodwork. She then attempted another effort at goal in the 12th minute, with an effort from just outside the box that sailed just wide of target. The French attacker was at the heart of everything, and she lobbed in a great ball for Rosucci, who ran into the box and just miss kicked the volley. Bonansea then struck the crossbar in the 35th minute with an effort from range. The Bianconere went into the break 1-0 up after Tuija Hyyrynen scored her first goal for Juventus inside stoppage time when she sliced home Bonanea’s assist.

Girelli came close to doubling the lead after the break when Zamanian played the ball to her and she let rip, only to see her shot saved by the Verona goalkeeper. Rosucci made for Maria Alves in the 54th minute, while Girelli’s header went wide of the far post. Rita Guarino’s ladies made it 2-0 in the 70th minute when Girelli got onto the end of Zamanian’s cross and nodded it into the back of the net. The striker then made way for Andrea Staskova, as Juventus added their third with a left-footed finish from Pedersen with 10 minutes to go. A fourth and final goal was put into the back of the net by Staskova when she directed towards goal Boattin’s cross, her initial effort was saved but she got onto the end of the rebound and tapped home to make it 4-0.
