    Profile

    EMRE CAN

Signed in June 2018 from Liverpool, Emre Can brings physical strength, versatility and a level of international experience that belies his age.
Born in Frankfurt, the Germany international progressed through the youth ranks of Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich, before breaking into the latter’s B team and senior squad.
As an 18-year-old, Can made his professional debut in Bayern’s 2012 German Super Cup victory and would make a handful of appearances before moving to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2013.
After a busy first season at Leverkusen which saw him play 39 matches in all competitions, Can was sold to Liverpool in 2014 where his career continued to blossom.
During four years on Merseyside, the powerful midfielder made a total of 167 appearances, including his Champions League debut (in 2014/15), he claimed Liverpool’s Young Player of the Season award (2015/16) and won the Premier League Goal of the Season award (2016/17) after his audacious overhead kick at Watford.
On the international stage, Can has risen through every age category of the German national setup, making his debut as a 21-year-old in 2015 and playing every match in Die Mannschaft’s 2017 Confederations Cup-winning campaign.
