Paolo De Ceglie began his career with the Juventus youth sector, gradually rising through the ranks and gaining a reputation as a very promising winger.
His talent was recognised by Didier Deschamps, who promoted him to the first team along with Claudio Marchisio and Sebastian Giovinco, and he was immediately converted into a left-back, a role in which he featured prominently first for Juve and then for Siena whilst out on loan during the 2007/08 campaign.
His speed of movement and pinpoint crossing abilities are his strongest qualities, but De Ceglie’s overall play has shown a constant improvement with each passing year.
Now an important part of Antonio Conte’s squad, in 2012 he signed a five-year contract extension that will keep him with the Bianconeri until 2017.
