The Bianconeri midfielder hails the side’s persistence: “The overall performance made a tough game much more straightforward”
Claudio Marchisio believes the overall team performance was vital in seeing off a tricky Atalanta side at Juventus Stadium.
The midfielder, who netted the third goal in a 3-0 victory, is now fully focused on Friday’s final Serie A fixture of 2012 against Cagliari, as the Bianconeri look to end a fantastic 2012 on a high by claiming three points in Sardinia.
Speaking after the game, the 26-year-old said: “We got off to a fantastic start, playing the type of game we were aiming for, with a ruthless approach and plenty of character. Vucinic’s strike made the task easier, but the overall performance made a tough game much more straightforward.
“The tempo dropped in the second half, but it’s a good sign that the strikers kept going right until the end in search of a goal. Now we’ll think ahead to Friday’s game against Cagliari. We’re after another win in order to celebrate Christmas in the best possible way.”
