The Uruguayan echoes Conte’s post-match sentiments following tonight’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico
Martin Caceres echoed the earlier sentiments of Antonio Conte by refusing to make excuses for tonight’s narrow defeat to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Uruguayan defender believes the Bianconeri must learn from their errors committed in the capital before aiming to bounce back to winning ways when Siena travel to Juventus Stadium next Sunday.
Addressing reporters after the game, Caceres said: “I didn’t like the game. We weren’t in full form and when you find yourself in that situation, you make a lot of mistakes. I don’t know if we were tired, but we mustn’t find excuses. They’re not required when you wear this shirt. We’ll now work during the week and try and work out where we went wrong.
The physical qualities demanded of Conte’s men in Tuesday’s tough battle in Glasgow may have had a telling impact on the overall condition of the players, but Caceres insists each and every member of the squad was eager to take to the field against the Giallorossi.
He concluded: “Every player wants to play in these types of games. Of course if you’re not at your best, you run the risk of committing too many errors.”
