The Juventus shotstopper claims this evening’s three points are worth a great deal in the context of the championship
Juventus captain Gigi Buffon expressed his satisfaction at attaining a vital three points at the Stadio Dall’Ara this evening.
However, despite the 2-0 win significantly strengthening the Bianconeri’s grip on top spot, the keeper went on to explain that there are plenty of games remaining before this season's title race reaches its conclusion.
The 35-year-old said: “There are still a lot of important games left to play, but we sent out a strong message this evening. Also, much like last Sunday, it was a contest which was worth more than the three points on offer.”
After yesterday’s Champions League draw, Buffon also gave his opinion on the tough task of taking on German giants Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.
“I don’t think that Bayern were watching. We’ll give it a good go against the Germans, knowing full well that we are facing up against a great side.
"There’s no shame in being knocked out by a team like Bayern. Just reaching this stage of the competition and being able to play against them is a great result.”
