Giovanissimi hopes alive despite defeat

Gabetta’s side beaten 4-2 by Inter in second group game of this year’s Scudetto finals. Sunday’s game against Roma decisive for a semi-final spot

A commendable never-say-die attitude was not enough to prevent the Giovanissimi Nazionali from slipping to a 4-2 defeat against Inter in their second group game of this year’s Scudetto finals.

After the Nerazzurri raced into an initial two-goal lead, Sallustio halved the deficit just before the break. Inter then re-established their advantage only for the Bianconeri to fight back once again, this time through Cabella. With Gabetta’s side swarming forward in search of an injury time equaliser, their opponents delivered a sucker punch to seal all three points at the death.

Despite the loss, the Bianconeri’s semi-final hopes remain alive after Reggina beat Roma in the other Group A encounter.  The Giallorossi, who have yet to register a single point, are Juve’s next opponents on Sunday afternoon.
