The Danish frontman makes an impressive debut in Sicily: “It was a good game, played against a very strong side”
Nicklas Bendtner expressed his delight after a strong debut showing helped the Bianconeri to all three points in Sicily.
The 24-year old, who joined the club from Arsenal on transfer deadline day, was a constant thorn in the hosts’ defence and showed signs of forging a good partnership with Mirko Vucinic.
Speaking after the final whistle, Bendtner said: “It was a good game, played against a very strong side. We knew about the difficulties we’d come up against, but that’s why it was an important success.”
Bendtner’s first start came in the wake of a 15-minute run out in the Bianconeri’s midweek Champions League draw with Nordsjaelland.
And the striker is confident that Juventus have what it takes to go far in the competition.
“I don’t think there’s any cause for concern. We have three points on the board and the same amount of games to be played. There’s every chance for us to get through to the next round.”
The Danish international concluded by paying tribute to manager Antonio Conte.
“I’ve got an excellent relationship with him. He’s a great manager and has built a magnificent team.”
