Bonucci: “Just what the boss ordered”

After his team-mates again put four goals past Lazio, contributor of two assists Leonardo Bonucci believes that the Bianconeri have comprehensively proven themselves as the superior side.

With Juventus tonight scoring four against Lazio for the second time in 13 days, the team that were a thorn in their side last season have been dealt revenge with added interest, and Leonardo Bonucci was a decisive man in making it possible on a  memorable  evening at Juventus Stadium.

The 26-year-old began by describing how the side’s performance tonight was just what Antonio Conte had been looking for beforehand.

Speaking to reporters after the 4-1 victory, Bonucci said: “In the first 25 minutes we played in the way that the manager has been calling for us to do. After their goal, our standard dropped a bit but we did well to extend the lead to two again after half-time. Hernanes’ sending-off all but ended the game as a contest.”

He ended by expressing his belief that Juventus have definitely proved themselves to be a stronger side than Lazio in the two games they have played against the Biancocelesti in the past fortnight.

“We played very well both today and in the Super Cup, and have shown on the pitch that we are a stronger side than Lazio. More so than the match two weeks ago, today we showed what we were made of from start to finish.”
