Quagliarella satisfied with personal contribution

Juve's top scorer in this season's Champions League provides his verdict: “It was a great game, I scored one and created another. I'm really happy”

Fabio Quagliarella put in a memorable performance during tonight’s 2-0 victory over Celtic at Juventus Stadium.

The striker has now cemented his status as the club’s leading marksman in the Champions League after netting his fourth of the current campaign.

Having made a significant contribution to Matri’s opening goal, Quagliarella then found the back of the net himself in the second half. Even aside from these two instances, the 30-year-old caused the visitors’ defence problems with his pace and driving runs.

Speaking to reporters after the encounter, the striker expressed satisfaction with his own personal performance.

Quagliarella said:  “It was a great game, I scored one and created another. I am really happy. For me it was important because I’m determined to be ready when called upon.”
