Atalanta’s boss full of praise for the Bianconeri’s achievements: “Conte’s done an extraordinary job over the past two years”
Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono was quick to laud the good work of opposite number Antonio Conte when addressing reporters during this afternoon’s pre-match press conference in Bergamo.
The 50-year-old also expressed his satisfaction at the achievements of former Nerazzurri duo Simone Padoin and Federico Peluso since they completed their respective switches to Turin.
Speaking to the media, Colantuono said: “I would like to congratulate Juventus on their Scudetto triumph and Antonio Conte on the extraordinary job he’s done over the past two years.
“I’m also happy for Padoin and Peluso, two magnificent lads who have earned their opportunity to play for a big club. They did well with us and are also doing a good job in Turin.”
With survival almost guaranteed following another steady campaign in Italy’s top-flight, Colantuono is hoping his team can bounce back from their weekend defeat to Parma by putting on a good show against the newly-crowned champions.
“Tomorrow will see us take on the best team in Italy and it will be very tough. We must avoid committing the types of errors we did against Parma, Juventus could punish us at the first opportunity.
“We’ll need to be extremely alert and try to stop them from playing. A positive result wouldn’t be impossible with a bit of luck on our side. We’ll give it a go.”
