The match-winner believes the team’s positive attitude was fundamental in securing tonight’s victory: “Everyone gives their all and helps out their team-mates”
Mirko Vucinic was once again the thorn in Milan’s side after putting Massimilano Allegri’s men to the sword with an extra-time winner at Juventus Stadium.
The Montenegrin, who edged Juventus ahead on aggregate with a stunning strike in last year’s dramatic semi-final, came off the bench to down the visitors and subsequently book the Bianconeri’s place in the next round.
Speaking after the game, Vucinic said: “Going through is the most important thing as far as we’re concerned. Milan are never easy opponents and it wasn’t simple to win today. We managed to do so and we’re still on track in every competition.
“I’m still not at the top of my game, but my condition is improving and it went well today, even if I’m still yet to get a full 90 minutes under my belt. I’d like to thank the club’s medical staff who are handling my recovery well.
“It’s our spirit that makes this team unique. Everyone here gives their all from the first minute until the last and helps out their team-mates. There aren’t any prima donnas at Juventus.”
