The Chilean’s goal in Trabzon is his 17th of the 2013/14 campaign: never has he been in such scintillating form as this year
Arturo Vidal is not one for playing coy. So when given the opportunity to take stock of his blistering season, he had no qualms in admitting: “I'm having my best season ever but I'm not going to set any limits on my final goals tally. I always try to give my all for the team.”
Already one of the pillars of this Juve side, the Chile midfielder has taken his game to an even higher level this term by increasing his goals haul: he is currently the Bianconeri's top scorer in 2013/14, having notched 17 strikes (11 in Serie A, five in the Champions League and one in the Europa League).
Far from being an individualist, Vidal is a team player and he was quick to share out the merit.
“The boss rotates the squad but we keep producing the goods. We saw that perfectly tonight: even when different players are brought in, the end product is still the same. We got our approach spot on today and you saw the result.”
For a warrior such as Arturo, sitting on the sidelines is almost an ordeal. But it's one he'll have to go through on Sunday, as suspension means he'll be limited to cheering on the rest of the team from afar.
“I'm gutted I can't play against Milan, but I know my team-mates will play well even without me,” he concluded.
