The defender urges Juventus to cut out their recent lapses after a nervy conclusion to this evening’s 3-2 victory over Milan at Juventus Stadium
Giorgio Chiellini believes the Bianconeri need to eradicate the recent lapses of concentration that have been creeping into their performances if they are to hold any hopes of claiming a third successive Scudetto title.
The defender’s third goal in tonight’s 3-2 win over Milan appeared to have put Juventus on course for a comfortable final 15 minutes, only for Sulley Muntari’s second of the night to set nerves jangling in a tense finale.
Speaking to reporters at Juventus Stadium, the 29-year-old reflected: “We made life difficult for ourselves again, and risked allowing Milan to snatch a draw. If that had happened we wouldn’t have slept for a week.
“A change in attitude is required if we want to win again this year. I can understand the first goal, but not the second, the game was over. I hope it serves as a lesson for the future. As far as the rest is concerned, I can only be happy, I scored and we won. Mexes’ punch? That’s not football.”
