Fabio Quagliarella, scorer of the third goal that put tonight’s clash with Avellino to bed, attributes the win to constant focus in training and the squad’s togetherness
A different competition, but the same outcome against Avellino in the Coppa Italia this evening: Juventus recorded another win, and the man who wrapped up the scoring was Fabio Quagliarella.
Speaking after the final whistle blew on the 3-0 victory sealed by his glancing header, the 30-year-old began by praising the professionalism of the squad’s behind-the-scenes preparations: “We’re pleased. Tonight’s victory belongs to a group that always trains well and does everything our boss asks of us.
“The players change, but the result is the same. I’m also happy for my goal as it’s always satisfying to put in a good performance when called upon.”
The visitors were backed throughout this evening’s encounter by a vociferous travelling following who packed out the away section of Juventus Stadium, and Quagliarella concluded with a word on the friendly competition between the two sets of fans.
“It would be great if it was always like that, seeing the two groups of supporters spurring each other on was a really touching moment.”
