This afternoon’s goalscorer believes the key to the Bianconeri's win over Livorno was an improved second-half performance: “We fashioned more clear-cut chances and scored two extremely important goals”
After producing a top display in this afternoon’s 2-0 triumph over Livorno, goalscorer Fernando Llorente, who broke the deadlock with a fine volley midway through the second half, was quick to share the plaudits with his team-mates.
Speaking to reporters shortly after the final whistle, the 28-year-old said: “We played well, especially in the second half when we created more clear-cut chances and scored two extremely important goals.”
Before looking ahead to Wednesday night’s return to Champions League action, Llorente reflected on his fruitful partnership with Carlos Tevez, an understanding he believes will only get better as time progresses.
He added: “We get better with every game we play together. Both our form and performances improve. Now we need to maintain this and focus on the Champions League, it’s imperative we beat FC Copenhagen.”
