In front of another capacity crowd at Stadio Brunod, Antonio Conte puts the Juve players through a tough fitness test on day three of the Châtillon pre-season training camp
Simone Pepe had warned the club’s new arrivals “you ain’t seen nothing yet” after the exertions of the first two days of training at Châtillon, and sure enough the winger’s prophecy came to fruition as Antonio Conte upped the intensity of this morning’s session in another testing fitness workout.
As the countdown begins to Wednesday’s friendly against a side of players from the region of Val d’Aosta at Saint Vincent’s Stadio Perucca, the main squad began with a piggy in the middle exercise, while Pepe, Luca Marrone and Ouasim Bouy followed a separate, conditioning based program as they continue to work towards peak fitness.
The fans, meanwhile, gave an outing to a number of chants from their repertoire, with songs for Conte, Pepe and Alessandro Matri amongst others.
Now fully warmed up, the Bianconeri changed from boots into running shoes for more of the jogging that Carlos Tévez has quickly realised will be a more permanent fixture than during his time at England.
Laps around the pitch were followed by multiple runs of the full length of the field, particularly challenging in the scorching sun.
The goalkeepers built on their work yesterday afternoon by practicing running out for crosses that were being whipped in by goalkeeping coach Claudio Filippi.
Having done their stretches to finish the session, the players will now take some time to recover before resuming training this afternoon at 4.30pm (CET).
