The Bianconeri midfielder features for the full 90 minutes as France put four past hosts Turkey in the last 16 and are now set to face Uzbekistan in the tournament quarter-finals on Saturday
Paul Pogba celebrated his return from suspension by captaining his under-20 France side to a resounding 4-1 triumph against Turkey in the last 16 to secure a place in this weekend’s World Cup quarter-final.
Les Bleus went into the interval with a two-goal advantage in Gaziantep after Geoffrey Kondogbia and Jean Bahebeck had both found the back of the net by the half hour mark. Mankowski’s team then doubled their lead and all but secured victory when Yaya Sanogo and Jordan Veretout added their names to the scoresheet in quick succession midway through the second half. Sinan Bakis did pull one back for the tournament hosts on 77 minutes but his strike proved to be a mere consolation.
France will next be in action on Saturday 6 July against Uzbekistan, who booked their last eight spot by registering a 3-1 success over Greece.
