A starring role: Tevez is this season’s MVP

The Members have chosen, with the Apache receiving hundreds of votes. With his 21 goals this season, the Argentine forward proved to be a huge favourite. This Sunday he’ll receive his award on the edge of the pitch before the kick-off against Cagliari

Carlos Tevez has been elected by Members as this season’s MVP. There were hundreds of votes cast for the Apache, who won over Bianconeri fans from the very start with his goals and sublime play.

Even in his first appearance in a Juventus shirt back in August, Carlos lived up to expectations with his strong performance in the Italian Super Cup against Lazio in Rome.

He took off like a rocket at the beginning of the season and hasn’t slowed down since: 21 goals in all (and he’s not finished yet), with one in the Super Cup and one in the Europa League. The Argentine striker has played for 3,619 minutes over 47 appearances, providing eight assists.

Nineteen goals have come in the Serie A, with the first one notched against Lazio at the Juventus Stadium after controlling the ball, dribbling and placing his shot just inside the far post. His most recent one came away to Sassuolo, sending his powerful blast past the keeper after shifting the ball to his right foot to help claim the three points.

But in between there were many magical moments, such as the one against AC Milan at the San Siro. Or his important goals in the second derby and away to Catania, where Carlitos came through once again.

The Apache had already been voted player of the month three times: September, October and February. Now comes the award for the entire season! And on Sunday afternoon, just before the kick-off of Juventus v Cagliari, Carlos will receive it. You can be sure the entire stadium will be sold out and ready to applaud him as the 32nd Scudetto is celebrated.
