Del Piero : «Scoring doubles the joy»

A jubilant and clearly emotional Del Piero expressed his more then well-deserved satisfaction at the end of a game in which he was protagonist.

“I am happy. It’s a dream come true. It was my dream to scorn at the Bernabeu and I managed to score twice. Scoring doubles the joy.”

What a self-made present for the Juventus skipper who has his birthday on Sunday. The second goal scored today is his 50th in European cups and the 248th goal for Juventus. The numbers say it all and yet it is hard to appreciate the greatness unless one bore witness to the magic casted by Re Ale’.

Del Piero’s goals tonight are the first ever in Madrid out of a total of 5 scored against the merengues.
