At work on Sunday...awaiting Real

Just a few hours after the match against Napoli the team is back at work. The upcoming match against Real Madrid, valid for the 3rd day of Champions League Group H, does not leave time for rest. Under the keen eyes of managing director Jean Claude Blanc and those of sports director Alessio Secco, the “bianconeri” held a training session on Sunday morning at Vinovo. The session consisted of the usual programme, that is an unwinding session for those who played against Napoli and normal activities for the others. Iaquinta, Mellberg and Legrottaglie were also present.

Camoranesi had a special programme as he continues to recover but will not make it for the match against Real. Like-wise neither will the other injured players namely Buffon, Trezeguet, Zebina, Zanetti, Tiago and Poulsen take part in Tuesday’s tie. The Danish midfielder joined the list of injured players after having left the field during the second part of the second half of the match against Napoli. On Sunday morning, the midfielder underwent a preliminary check-up that resulted in charley horse in the front muscle of the right thigh. The seriousness of the injury will be examined further on Monday.

With regards to unavailable players, the team were happy to be visited by David Trezeguet. The French striker went to Vinovo to undergo a medical check-up by the Juventus medical staff who noted the progress made following the first period of therapy which the striker underwent in Arezzo. David will remain in Turin for a few more days before the beginning of a second phase in his rihabilitation at another specialized center.
