Bate wins postponed match to kick-off celebrations

Awaiting Juventus-Genoa attention is shifted to the rivals of the bianconeri in the Champions League who in the past few hours played achieving different results. The teams in question are Bate Borisov and Real Madrid.

Bate, who have just been confirmed Bielorussian champions, won the pending championship match away to Savit Mogilev (0-1 with a goal scored by Sivakov). Three useless points which made the margin from the second placed Dinamo Minsk rise to seven points. All this before the great celebrations planned. During the weekend Bate will play its last match home to Lokomotiv Vitebsk.

In the meantime, Real Madrid still seems to be the black sheep in the cup ties. After having lost both encounters against Juventus in the Champions League, the Spanish champions were also eliminated from the Copa del Rey. The elimination did not go down lightly at all since it came as great surprise owing to the fact that the opponents of the merengues were a third division team : Real Union.

A Raul hat-trick was not enough for Schuster’s men who won the home match by 4-3 (with the other goal scored by Bueno). The 3-2 defeat in the first leg was enough to see the Real Union through on away goals.
