Youth team starts with a bang

Juventus' Youth Team hoped to begin the New Year like they ended the old one. Well, Chiarenza's boys did even better. They won authoritatively at a tough ground such as Genoa's (4-2 with goals by Essabr, Vecchione and two by Pasquato); this is their eighth consecutive win in the League - tenth if you count the Italian Cup - and they’re already sure of first place after the first part of the season, thanks to Brescia drawing at Mantova.

With one round to go before the end of the first part of the season (the Bianconeri will play bottom-placed Pisa next Saturday at home), Juventus are in first place with four points over Sampdoria and five over Brescia. The team are continuing their golden moment just as the season comes into its decisive period. After the match against Pisa and before leaving to take part in the Viareggio Tournament (the opening match is on January 29), Juventus will play the first leg of the Italian Cup Quarter Finals, against Atalanta, and the first return match of the League, against title rivals Brescia.
