Castagnini: «Win in Viareggio? We can do it»

«The first three matches have been interpreted in the right way, and practically all players had the chance to play. Clearly, from now on, it won’t be so easy, because it will be a direct elimination and not always who’s better wins». Renzo Castagnini looks ahead. Juventus Youth Department Manager cannot be but satisfied of performances of Primavera at Viareggio Tournament, but the message, sent through Juventus Channel cameras, is clear: we must not lie down. Our target is now the knockout round match vs. Cesena. «It’s a compact team, “laborer”, they fight for every ball and have some good individuals. It will be a difficult match, but we can win it».

Looking at our opponents, Castagnini finds out the most dangerous teams in Inter and Milan: «These are the most equipped teams, but Viareggio Tournament, by direct elimination, can always be surprising, like it happened with Sampdoria, eliminated at first round. I think there will be other surprises, but most equipped teams are supposed to go on. Repeating last year victory? We try, we can do it and the boys feel they can do well».

Satisfactions for Primavera do not only come from Viareggio: Giandonato’s onset with the First Team in Livorno is the confirmation of the very good work done by Youth Department: «This must be Youth Department work, and of all teams. Besides winning trophies, like we hope, the biggest satisfaction comes from sending someone to the First Team. Giandonato follows other mates such as Marrone, Immobile, Rossi, Yago… we must keep on working for this ».

Putting the attention for a moment on the First Team, which is not going through a very easy moment, Castagnini says he is optimist: «It’s a complex matter, there have been many injuries and it’s always difficult to comment such a situation, but I believe Juventus has technical and moral means to recover».
