When Legrottaglie warned everyone about Del Neri's working methods, this certainly didn't surprise Claudio Ranieri. All through the week, even more so after Atalanta trounced Napoli 5-1, Juventus' Manager studied ways to counter his tactics and the final result was satisfactory: three precious points, allowing Juve to remain in the running.
These are the Manager's comments to Juventus Channel: “I'd foretold the lads how difficult it was going to be. Atalanta have two great traits: they allow few shots from opponents and they quickly go on the counter-attack, without really bothering about ball possession. The lads did well to win this match, which proved as difficult as predicted. Especially in the first half we did really well. Del Piero was excellent when he came on, and Nedved was great too. I'd noticed that he was improving in the last few matches and he's always been a vital player, also because of how he’s been helping the younger players from the beginning of the season. Now he's scored at last, and I'm happy for him. I'm only waiting for Camoranesi to recover now, and then I'll have a complete team”.
