One more League game – next Saturday in Genoa against Sampdoria – before leaving for the tour in China and Australia, and Juventus' 2007/08 season will go in the archives, once again with many pleasant memories to be cherished.
The old season is ending, and already thoughts are on the new one. Yesterday the dates of the summer camp, which will take Ranieri's men towards the Champions League preliminary rounds scheduled for August, were released.
The 2008/09 season will officially start on Saturday July 5, the day when the squad will meet up in Vinovo before travelling to Pinzolo. For the third year running, the Bianconeri will start preparing for the new season in the green environment of the Val Rendena, in the Trentino region, where they will be staying until Wednesday the 16th.
The official announcement came yesterday, on Sunday May 11. Before the start of the home game against Catania, Juventus and the Trentino region renewed their agreement until the year 2011. Managing Director Jean-Claude Blanc and Business Director Marco Fassone took part in the meeting representing the Club, while the Trento Councillor for Tourism, Tiziano Mellarini, APT Deputy Chairman Roberto Failoni, Director Delio Picciani, and the man in charge of Trentino Spa's marketing, Maurizio Rossini, represented the region.
As for summer 2008, the team is scheduled to stay in Pinzolo from the 5th to the 16th of July. During that period, two friendly matches will be played. The first against Mezzocorona – a team currently fighting for promotion to Serie C1 -, whom Juve met last year too. The second match's opponents have still to be identified, but will probably be a team from Serie A or Serie B.
Seeing how successful the first two years in Pinzolo have been, summer 2008 looks set to be another enjoyable period for everyone.
