Serie A to start with a Sunday night game in Florence

Juventus' 2008/09 season will begin under the floodlights again. The big match against Fiorentina has been selected as Day 1's Sunday night game and will be played on Sunday 31st of August at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence at 8.30 pm.

The Bianconeri and the Viola will face each other just a few days after the second leg of their Champions League qualifiers. Juventus are playing in Bratislava on Tuesday 26th, Fiorentina the next day – Wednesday 27th – in Prague against Slavia.

Apart from the Fiorentina-Juventus game, the Football League have also decided the two matches to be played on Saturday the 30th. It'll be Udinese and Palermo opening the League season at 6 pm, while the night game at 8.30 pm is going to be Sampdoria vs. Inter Milan.
