Iaquinta keeps the flame alive

Thanks to a Vincenzo Iaquinta goal, Juventus can still hope to qualify in the Italian Cup. It was Empoli's night: Giovinco and his team mates beat the Bianconeri 2-1 thanks to goals by Abate and Pozzi, one in each half.

The former Udinese player's goal, after 82 minutes, was the best thing on a less than favourable night for Ranieri's team, who also had to play in 10 men for most of the second half after Almiron’s was sent off.

To qualify and reach the quarter finals, Del Piero and his team mates need to win the return match in Turin, scheduled for the 16th of January.
