Mauro German Camoranesi

Squad Number: 16

Mauro German Camoranesi was born on the 4th of October 1976 in Tandil, Argentina, where his parents and sister still live. He is married and has three children.

His main hobby is music: he's been playing the electric bass for years now, an instrument he learned to play on his own. Music is an important part of his day: apart from playing it, he also listens to a lot of it, mainly rock. Despite being so into it, he hasn't got a singer or a lyric to which he's particularly attached. It doesn't matter to him, as long as it's good music.
He's not a huge movie fan, but he does admit to liking Robert De Niro as an actor. His favourite movies are those taken from true events and stories. One of the best films he's ever seen is called Great Expectations.

Mauro – nicknamed “Camo” by his team mates – is a real gourmet. He's been a lover of all Italian cuisine for many years now and the one dish he really cannot give up is lasagne. He doesn't know a lot about wine, but, given the choice, he opts for red wines.

Mauro chooses his clothes with care but isn't overtly concerned with current fashions. He favours casual, sporty clothes over elegant formalwear. He's quite into trainers but not obsessive about them.

He's been playing golf regularly for a couple of years now and occasionally plays tennis too. He likes to watch Formula 1 and Motorbike racing on TV, and recently has been getting into rugby as well. His favourite sportsman is golfer Ian Poulter.

As for his football career, he started playing when he was 9 in a team called Jorge Newbery and from the very start he was employed as a midfielder on the wing. His fondest memory at Juventus is the 2002/03 season, his first there, when he won the Scudetto and reached the Final of the Champions League.

It's very easy to guess his fondest memory in general: winning the World Cup, of course.
His greatest ambition is winning a European Cup with Juventus. A promise he made to himself that he’d like to extend to all the fans.
