Dario Knezevic was born in Rijeka, Croatia, on April 20th 1982. He has only played for two professional clubs up until now: HNK Rijeka, his hometown team, where he played until summer 2006, and Livorno, where he played in the last two years. He plays as a defender but doesn't shy away from going forward, as demonstrated by the four goals he scored with the Tuscan team.

He's a regular in the Croatian national side too, and he took part in the recent European Championships in Austria and Switzerland, playing all three first round games. During the third of these, against Poland, he picked up an injury that prevented him from playing any further.
