When he's free he listens to a lot of music, watches the occasional film on TV and also reads. He adores shopping around Turin, a city which he considers ideal for someone like him: it's big, lively, but at the same time definitely reserved.
He has a soft spot for latin music, but also appreciates house and R’N’B. His favourite actor is John Travolta, but he also likes other Hollywood heavyweights such as De Niro, Al Pacino and Dustin Hoffman very much. His favourite film is David Fincher's 7even, a thriller, the genre he prefers.
David is a meat lover. He lived in Argentina as a boy and fell in love with the local food, the main ingredient of which is meat: it's among the best in the world and is prepared in a variety of ways: barbecued (braseros), skewered (asados), grilled (churrascos) or boiled (puncheros), always served in generous portions accompanied by pulses, potatoes, rice or maize and various sauces such as chimichurri.
When he reached Italy he discovered Mediterranean cuisine and pretty soon became an enthusiast of it: pasta, rice and first dishes in general are his favourites.
The way David dresses reflects his personality: sober and refraining from any excess. He alternates between casual and elegant attire. He's not worried too much about accessories, but there is one detail he pays a lot of attention to: his sunglasses. He's not obsessively into fashion, but he does put a great deal of care in choosing the right colour combinations.
He's not interested in other sports much, but he does like tennis. He's impressed by Federer's physical prowess. When he can he plays a few sets himself.
David began playing football when he was 8, in Atletico Pratense's youth teams; his goal was to imitate his all-time idol, Diego Armando Maradona. He joined AS Monaco in 1995/96 and played for them until 2000.
He's won a great deal since joining Juventus: 4 League titles (he considers them all won despite the fact that two were stripped from Juventus), 2 Italian Super Cups and he was also the League's top scorer for the 2001/02 season. It would really be impossible for him to choose the defining moment out of all these happy memories.
But not taking into consideration his experiences with the "Old Lady" in Turin, he has no doubts: the most significant victories of his football career have been the World Cup in 1998 and the European Championships in 2000.
On a personal level, David hopes he and his loved ones can enjoy plenty of peace and happiness. As a footballer, he’s concentrating on one single aim: to win trophies with Juventus again, as soon as possible.
