Marco Marchionni was born on the 22nd of July 1980 in Monterotondo, near Rome. The son of Luigina and Pietro, he has a brother, Umberto, and two sisters, Irene and Elisabetta. His wife's name is Claudia.
After finishing secondary school, Marco went to Accounting high school, feeling he had a gift for scientific subjects, and was able to obtain a diploma. In general he liked studying and never had any problems at school.

When he's not playing football, he spends a lot of time with his wife. They enjoy watching movies (in particular action movies, most of all “Braveheart”, featuring his favourite actor Mel Gibson). They listen to music and they adore shopping together. Marco's favourite singer is Vasco Rossi, and he owns all his albums, but his and Claudia's song is Eros Ramazzotti's “Musica c’è”.

When at home he loves relaxing with a good book; if he had to recommend one, he would have no hesitation in choosing Nicholas Evans' “The Horse Whisperer”.

He's pretty good in the kitchen and if he wants to impress someone he prepares “pennette in vodka sauce”, which has by now become his speciality. He likes chilled white wine a lot, preferably from the centre of Italy; maybe a good Bianco dei Castelli Romani.

Marco almost always chooses to dress sporty; that way he feels at ease and, most importantly, comfortable.

He's keen on all sports. In particular he likes sports that are played on holiday, perhaps on a nice beach. He also loves tennis and 5-a-side football, which he cannot partake in as much as he'd like, for obvious reasons.

Marco's debut came when he was 7 years old, in Castelchiodato's team. He played as a forward and only at 19 was he moved to the wing, as he was able to go past his man and put in some great crosses for his team mates. He hopes to stay at Juventus for a long time and possibly relive the career of his idol, Roberto Baggio. Marchionni dreams of winning a prestigious trophy; but the greatest trophies for him would be happiness and good health.
