Amauri Carvalho de Oliveira was born in Carapiquiba, Brazil, on June 3rd 1980. He arrives at Juventus as a 28-year old after a long process of improvement, begun in 2000 when he was signed by Swiss team Bellinzona. Very soon Italy would become his home away from home.

Indeed he joined Napoli in 2001 and then played for Piacenza, Messina and Chievo.

He shone in Verona and went from strength to strength in the years at Palermo, where he became a star due to his goal-scoring abilities.
