Maurizio D'Angelo

Field assistant

Maurizio D’Angelo was born in Naples on September 29th 1969. As a player he linked his name to Chievo, where, apart from a brief parenthesis with Napoli, he lived his entire career, becoming the captain of the team and contributing in a determinant way to the “Chievo miracle”, with the historical promotion to the Serie A in 2001, under the guidance of Luigi Del Neri. With the Verona boys D’Angelo ended his career as a player and began that of trainer, as Berretta’s assistant, in the 2004/05 season. During the last three matches, he started leading the team and succeeded in avoiding relegation.
During the following season he stayed at Chievo, first as Pillon’s assistant, then, after Del Neri’s return to Verona, as an observer. In the 2008/09, season he went back to his role as trainer, in the second division when he joined Sudtirol. He now joins Juventus, as field assistant to his former coach and colleague Luigi Del Neri.
