Zaccheroni field a 4-3-3 formation with Trezeguet and Del Piero the striking duo backed by Diego. The bianconeri are immediately aggressive and one can immediately note the great determination and the awareness of the importance of the match on the players’ faces.

On the 3rd minute a Diego shot is blocked by Cassani. Three minutes later, there is a free-kick for Palermo: Miccoli puts a dangerous ball into the area but Chiellini heads away.

The 8th minute sees a corner for Juve after a good bit of action by Diego, Del Piero and Candreva: Ball into the area by Diego but Melo heads high over the bar. Nice play by Del Piero and Sissoko who is anticipated by the defence on the 9th minute.

It is the 10th minute when Diego puts a ball in for Trezeguet but the defence clears. One minute later, a Candreva cross into the area does not find anyone. On the 12th minute, a Nocerino shot is saved by Manninger.

On the 13th minute, Sirigu anticipates Trezeguet following a Candreva cross into the area. One minute later, a Del Piero through ball sees Candreva arriving a split second late. It is the 16th minute when Del Piero is blocked by the defence as he is about to enter the area.

The 17th minute sees a Nocerino attempt saved easily by Manninger. One minute later, there is a corner for Juve after great work and a good cross by Del Piero: The captain puts the ball into the area but Chiellini is forced to pass outside the area.

On the 19th minute, a Grygera ball is cleared by the defence. Three minutes later, an incredible Candreva attempt is saved by an incredible Sirigu into corner: the ball is put into the area by Diego and is cleared by what could have been a foul.#

The 24th minutes sees a Trezeguet header go inches wide. One minute later, a De Ceglie cross is not precise enough. It is the 28th minute when a long distance shot by Del Piero goes just wide.

On the 29th minute, there is a corner for Juve: after a series of attempts the ball is cleared by the defence. Two minutes later, a Diego shot after an exchange with Trezeguet is too soft to worry Sirigu.

It is the 34th minute when Manninger performs a good save on a Nocerino attempt. Six minutes pass and Chiellini is clever to block a dangerous Miccoli shot. Trezeguet stopped for a foul in attack on Bovo on the 41st minute.

It is the 42nd minute when there is a corner for Palermo after a good intervention by Sissoko on Cassani: ball headed high but Miccoli was off-side.

On the last minute of the first half, a Melo shot goes well high over the bar after a Del Piero attempt is blocked by the defence. No stoppage time given by the referee. In the first half Juve had over 55% of ball possession.

The second half sees lady luck coming on for Palermo. On the 2nd minute, Diego is fouled in the area but the referee signals to play on. Two minutes later, a Sissoko shot from outside the area goes wide.

It is the 6th minute when a Grygera cross is protected by Bovo. Four minutes later, Manninger performs a super save on an extremely dangerous Pastore conclusion. Corner for Palermo: Trezeguet heads away.

On the 11th minute, Chiellini blocks an extremely dangerous cross. Three minutes later a good Grygera cross is cleared by the defence.

The turning point of the match comes 1 minute later. A Miccoli projectile from a long distance finds itself at the back of the net for the opener: 0-1.

Two minutes later, there is a free-kick for Juve: Diego puts the ball into the area, Cannavaro scores but the referee disallows for a Del Piero offside. On the 21st minute, a beautiful shot by Chiellini goes millimeters wide.

It is the 25th minute when there is a free-kick for Juve from a good position from 21 metres: Del Piero sends the ball just over. Good attempt.

Palermo start to pile up the pressure and on the 29th minute, a Cavani attempt goes just high over the bar. Two minutes later, a Micolli shot goes high over the bar.

Paolucci and Grosso come on for Del Piero and De Ceglie on the 35th minute and one minute later, an unlucky mistake by Grygera who passes to an unprepared Manninger sees Budan easily scoring the 0-2.

On the 38th minute, there is a corner for Juve: ball towards Paolucci who tries to enter but is blocked by Liverani. Three minutes later, a Chiellini shot goes high over the bar. Zebina comes on for Diego on the 43rd minute.

The 1st out of 3 minutes of stoppage time given by the referee sees Balzaretti clearing a ball which seemed destined for the net.

The last bit of action comes on the 47th minute when there is a free-kick for Juve: Candreva puts the ball in but it is headed away.

The match ends 0-2 for the Sicilians who move past Juve in the table by two points. It is the first defeat for the bianconeri since Zaccheroni took over as coach.
