J-College scoops European Club Association award

Andrea Agnelli and Giuseppe Marotta in Geneva to receive the European Club Award for the best educational project dedicated to academy youngsters across Europe

Juventus Football Club’s unrelenting commitment to providing its academy players with the best academic and sporting education has this evening been recognised by the European Club Association in Geneva.

The ‘ECA Development Award’, handed to the best soccer academy education project in Europe, is just reward for the club’s forward thinking in promoting youth development schemes.

A driving force behind the achievement has been the Bianconeri’s groundbreaking J-College educational centre, the first of its kind in Italy and a continually expanding facility which this year welcomed an increased intake of students.

Andrea Agnelli and Giuseppe Marotta were at tonight’s ceremony in Switzerland, where the latter expressed his delight at winning such a prestigious award.

Speaking from the city’s Hotel Président Wilson, Marotta said: “Many families entrust us with their children and we have the responsibility of ensuring a balance between their sporting and human development.

“J-College was opened last year to enable us to carry out this important task to the best of our abilities and we’re proud that a prestigious organisation such as the ECA has recognised the quality of our project.”
