The Women's First Team came from behind to beat Sassuolo 2-1 on Matchday 6 of the 2026/27 season.
The Bianconere fell behind thanks to Lana Clelland's strike in Biella, but goals from Alba Redondo and Cecilia Salvai turned the game around.
THE MATCH REPORT
Juventus started with determination and, in the eighth minute, threatened with a free-kick from Eva Schatzer, which went wide. Five minutes later, Estela Carbonell tried her luck, but her shot was blocked by the Neroverde defence. In the 20th minute, however, it was Sassuolo who took the lead. Martina Brustia crossed the ball in from the right and Lana Clelland, with a first-time volley, beat Larissa Rusek to put the visitors ahead.
The Bianconere reacted and pressed hard for an equaliser. In the 28th minute, Annamaria Serturini forced Noemi Benz into a save with a shot from the right, whilst in the 39th minute, Juventus’ number 15 was again at the heart of two chances, only to be denied on both occasions by the opposing goalkeeper. As the half drew to a close, Alba Redondo headed the ball to Amaiur Sarriegi in the box, but the Sassuolo defence intervened just in time. The teams went into the break with the visitors leading 1–0.
Juventus returned to the pitch after the break with Kysha Sylla replacing Federica D’Auria and stepped up the pressure in attack. In the 53rd minute, Sylla herself came close to equalising following a corner, whilst in the 59th minute Julia Bartel tried to catch Benz off guard, but the keeper saved the shot. In the 21st minute, it was Sylla again who tested the goal, only to hit the side netting.
The Bianconere’s push was rewarded in the 72nd minute. Bartel delivered a shot/cross which found Redondo ready to pounce in the box and slot home with her right foot to make it 1–1.
Juventus continued to attack and completed their comeback in the 77th minute. Remina Chiba, who had come on just a few minutes earlier, gathered her composure for a left-footed volley that struck the crossbar. Cecilia Salvai pounced on the ball and headed home to make it 2–1.
In the closing stages, the Bianconere held on to their lead until the final whistle, securing a comeback victory in front of their home crowd. Three precious points for Isaac Guerrero’s side.
