The Juventus Men's First Team came from two goals behind to draw 3-3 against AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Serie A Matchday 27.
THE MATCH REPORT
The start of the match at the Stadio Olimpico was intense, and after a few minutes, Mattia Perin made a decisive save as he was alert to Nicolo Pisilli's shot aimed at the far post. Luciano Spalletti's side's first real attacking threat came from Khephren Thuram's through ball to Kenan Yildiz as the number 10 made a powerful run, reaching the edge of the box and shooting, but his effort ended up over the bar.
In the 24th minute, Perin was again in the thick of the action, making a quick save from Donyell Malen's close-range shot. On the half-hour mark, Yildiz accelerated, skipped past his opponents and set up Chico Conceicao in the box, who cut inside on his left foot and fired a shot on goal, only to be denied at the last second by the Giallorossi defence. Shortly afterwards, Pierre Kalulu put in an inviting cross, and Weston McKennie rose highest to meet it with a header, but the ball grazed Mile Svilar's right-hand post. Just as the first half seemed to be drawing to a close, the deadlock was broken in the 39th minute as Wesley fired home from distance to give the Giallorossi the lead. The hosts went into the break 1-0 up.
Juventus started the second-half with the right attitude, which immediately resulted in the equaliser. Conceicao fired home a powerful and precise left-footed shot on the half-volley to make it 1-1. A few minutes later, Yildiz had a chance to put his side ahead, but his shot was slightly off target and failed to find the back of the net.
In the 54th minute, Roma took the lead again with Evan Ndicka converting from a corner kick and, ten minutes later, scored their third goal with Malen's smart finish. However, the Bianconeri did not give up and in the 78th minute, they reduced the deficit with Jeremie Boga scoring in the box to make it 3-2. In the 87th minute, Edon Zhegrova tried to surprise Svilar with a dangerous shot, but the Giallorossi goalkeeper made the save.
Just as the match seemed to be drawing to a close, Juventus' determination was rewarded: in stoppage time, following a set piece, Federico Gatti took advantage of a loose ball in the penalty area to score the equaliser. It was a crucial goal that completed the comeback and demonstrated Juventus' spirit to fight until the very end.
