Following the Serie A Matchday 6 win over Genoa, Juventus Women’s First Team coach Massimiliano Canzi spoke, along with players Martina Rosucci and Lindsey Thomas.

MASSIMILIANO CANZI

“Today’s game was similar to others we’ve played this season, but the big difference was that we made the most of our chances and we’re happy to have won.

"The level of quality in this league has risen considerably this season, so it’s hard for us to dominate like we might have in the past. The level has risen, that’s a fact, there are no easy games anymore. I think it’s more balanced now and, as a result, it will be more exciting.

“[Barbara] Bonansea and [Eva] Schatzer came out of the Champions League game in less-than-optimal condition, so it’s unlikely that we’ll have them available for the next few matches.”

MARTINA ROSUCCI

“In a few games this year we haven’t been able to make the most of what we’ve created, but we can’t get caught up on that because we should have been able to find ways to win. Today we scored twice and we’re pleased, but we would have liked to score even more. But the important thing is that we won, and we’ve sent a message to the other teams.

“[Cristina] Libran is an incredibly professional girl, she’s very young but she has a great head on her shoulders and always gives her all in training.”

LINDSEY THOMAS

“I’m pleased with the result and the performance, but this is just the beginning. Unfortunately, we’ve dropped points at the beginning of the season and this win has to be seen as a starting point. Today’s game was important for us, and we wanted to win at all costs here.

"I’m happy to have played a little closer to goal, after a long period of having played at wing-back. Of course, I’m at the coach’s disposal and I’ll play where he wants, but I felt good playing higher up the pitch.”
