LUCIANO SPALLETTI

"To win games, you have to score goals; we have to find spaces to score. Tonight, too, we had moments in the game where we were dominant, showing the level of football we can play, and others where we were too superficial, failing to maintain that determination, that concentration. We have to play to win games, not just hope to win them. We have to be determined to score throughout the match."

DUSAN VLAHOVIC

"Today it was important to win. I'm happy with the goal and the confidence the coach has placed in me. He's always been there for me, he's helped me a lot, and I want to repay him. We definitely could have scored more goals and been more clinical in the final minutes. Now we have to face the last two games knowing what we have to do, which is to go even stronger than today."

The Bianconeri secured three crucial points thanks to the number nine's goal, which broke the deadlock after just 11 seconds, sealing the Bianconeri's victory very early on.

MATCH REPORT

Juventus got off to a dream start at the Via del Mare: it took just 11 seconds for the Bianconeri to break the deadlock against Lecce, capitalizing on an early kickoff: Yildiz found Koopmeiners in the penalty area, who played the ball wide to Cambiaso, who crossed for Vlahovic. The Serbian controlled the ball with class, then outplayed the defender and fired the ball just under the crossbar to give Juventus the lead. A few minutes later, Di Gregorio made a decisive save from Cheddira's close-range effort, keeping the score unchanged. The Bianconeri responded immediately and nearly doubled their lead through Conceicao: Locatelli's splendid through ball found the Portuguese winger, whose left-footed shot hit the post, denying him a goal. Juventus played with intensity, with Vlahovic the team's attacking focal point, and he threatened again with a left-footed shot that was saved by Falcone. Bremer also tried to double the lead, attempting an acrobatic shot inside the box but failing to find the target. In the 39th minute, Juventus created another great chance thanks to their high press: Vlahovic found himself in a favourable position and fired off a left-footed strike, but the shot rose too high and went wide.

Juventus played well in the second half, scoring twice, but both goals were ruled out for very narrow offsides. First, Vlahovic saw his brace slip away, then Kalulu celebrated briefly before a VAR review. The Bianconeri continued to push forward however. Another good opportunity arose in the 69th minute: Yildiz cut in from the left, having received the ball from Conceicao, and shot towards the far post, but it didn't hit the target. A few minutes later, Juventus threatened again thanks to our number 7: the Portuguese player accelerated down the right flank, reached the byline, and crossed to Vlahovic, who attempted a right-footed shot in the box, but it was saved by Falcone. Spalletti's team continued to push forward in the final minutes, and in the 76th minute they created another opportunity with a good combination between McKennie and Vlahovic: the Juventus number 9 fired a right-footed shot after a quick one-two, but the ball went over. In the final minutes, Boga and Zhegrova had a couple of chances to double the lead, but both were saved by Falcone. Vlahovic's 11-second goal ultimately decided the match in Lecce and gave the Bianconeri the three points.

In the stunning setting of Giardini Naxos, Sicily, John Elkann and Michel Platini greeted Fan Club Presidents, engaging them in a conversation that moved through memories and looked ahead to the future, weaving together history, belonging and pride. President Gianluca Ferrero then delivered his greetings, highlighting the deep bond that unites the entire Bianconeri family.

Responsibility and pride: these are the values that shape Juventus’ identity, protected and shared every day around the world, also thanks to the energy and dedication of our Clubs.

John Elkann said: “Juventus is unique thanks to its fans, whom I want to thank, and to our players who have always taken the field with the desire to win for the great Bianconeri family and with pride for our shirt.

We want to build a strong Juventus: we have players who represent the future. After difficult years, it is important to build again on solid foundations. Our strength has always been the unity between ownership, the Club, the team and our supporters.”

Michel Platini shared with those present the great victories and the pride of having been a Juventus player: “I feel great pride in having worn the black and white shirt and in having played alongside friends and great champions. We won less than we should have, but I learned to love Italian supporters and their passion.

With the Avvocato, I always had a relationship marked by fairness and respect. The Agnelli family has long been the backbone of Juventus, and the “Juve style” immediately brings his vision to mind”.

Finally, President Gianluca Ferrero thanked those present for their great passion: “I would like to thank John Elkann: by being here, he has given a tangible sign of the closeness that his family has always shown to our great family, Juventus. A special thank-you also goes to the Presidents of the Official Fan Clubs for being here today and for the tireless work through which you strengthen, day after day, the bond between the Club and its supporters: it is thanks to you that this team effort continues. Juventus is a great family: the same colours, the same values, the same passion.”

In total, there are 561 Juventus Official Fan Clubs. Today, more than 300 of them, from all over the world, have gathered in Sicily to bring to life an emotion-filled Bianconeri weekend.

The Bianconere will face the Nerazzurri on Sunday 10 May at 15:00 CEST.

Massimiliano Canzi spoke to the press on the eve of the match, his comments are below

THE IMPORTANCE OF DEPTH

"For us, it's important to have a deep and experienced roster at our disposal at the end of this season: we're coming to the end, and the girls are certainly a bit worn out from the long season. We often forget that we're the team that has played the most games, reaching the Coppa Italia and the Serie A Women's Cup, advancing in the Champions League, and therefore playing a truly impressive number of games over the past few months. Having the ability to choose is important, both when selecting your starting lineup and during the match."

THE CHALLENGE AGAINST INTER

"We're feeling good. This was one of the very few weeks we managed to prepare ideally, with no other commitments and the entire team available. We've recovered from the trip to Naples and trained well. The match against Inter won't be easy: the data tells us they have the top attack and second-best defence; statistically, they're the team that performed best in the entire championship. Roma deservedly won the Serie A Women, managing to stay ahead of the rest from start to finish, but the raw data tells us that Inter are truly top-notch. That's why we expect a tough match against a team that's strong in every department."

BONANSEA ONE STEP AWAY FROM GIRELLI'S RECORD

"Bonansea, like all the women who have been here longer, are instilling in the rest of the group the concept of being Juventus, what it means to be part of this family and the sense of belonging to this team. Above all, what it means to wear this jersey: the fact that players like Bonansea—who is close to reaching a major milestone, Girelli's record for appearances for Juventus Women—along with Rosucci and Salvai, allows the team to absorb these concepts. Then there are several players in the group who have been at Juventus for several years and who will be able to take this guidance to heart and carry on their legacy."

Let’s get up to speed ahead of the weekend’s game with some pre-match stats.

INTERESTING FACTS

Juventus could secure their place in next season’s Champions League with the right result against Inter: the Bianconere would be guaranteed third place with a win over Inter, or a draw, providing none of Fiorentina, Lazio nor Napoli win.

Juventus (eight) and Inter (seven, the same as Fiorentina) are two of the three teams that have scored the most headed goals in this Serie A season.

Juventus and Inter are, alongside Roma and Milan, two of the four teams to have had the most different players score in this Serie A season: 13 each.

Only against Napoli (six) has Lindsey Thomas scored more goals than against Inter in Serie A: five (the same as against Empoli), whilst playing for Milan, Roma and Juventus.

One of Lia Walti’s three assists in Serie A came against Inter in the first match; only the injured Chiara Beccari (21) has created more chances than the Swiss player in this campaign among Juventus players: 20, the same as Estela Carbonell and Eva Schatzer.

Inter are the team with the longest current run of away wins in Serie A (seven – already a club record in the competition); the last side to record more consecutive away wins was Roma, between October 2022 and April 2023 (nine).

Inter boast the best attack (as well as overall) in the second halves of this Serie A season (28 goals), but they face the side that have conceded the fewest in the second half: Juventus (six).

Inter have scored 11 goals from set-pieces in this Serie A season, second only to Roma (13); the Nerazzurri are also the side that have conceded the fewest from set-pieces (three, with Juventus just behind on four).

Haley Bugeja has scored 17 goals this season, just five fewer than her total from the previous four seasons with an Italian club: 22 between 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24, while playing for Sassuolo and Inter.

Tessa Wullaert is just one goal away from becoming Inter’s second-highest all-time goalscorer in the top flight: she has 23 goals to her name so far (13 in the current season), level with Tabitha Chawinga and trailing only Elisa Polli (27).

Coach Luciano Spalletti spoke about the match against the Salentini at the pre-match press conference.

RECENT FORM

“We want to pick up where we left off at the end of the last match. It wasn’t all a write-off, our fans recognised our commitment and quality. We want to build on what we did well, even though it didn’t yield the result we’d hoped for. The mistake we mustn’t make is to blame it on bad luck. When you don’t win matches, it’s tough in the dressing room. I’ve seen them this week, and I’m convinced they’ll respond. Pain gives rise to a strength you didn’t have before, Character emerges from what isn’t going well and which you’re forced to turn around."

LECCE'S QUALITY AND VLAHOVIC'S RETURN

"Tomorrow we’re playing against a well-organised side. I know [Eusebio] Di Francesco, he’s a good manager, and I know [Pantaleo] Corvino. I know they have a club that invests, these are all factors that add value. We’ll be up against a side that will play at a high tempo, it’ll take everything we’ve got to secure a significant result on a pitch like that. [Dusan] Vlahovic starting the game is a possibility. Let’s not place too much responsibility on him either, team cohesion comes from many things."

MENTALITY

"We’ve ruled out a few options; before, there were different alternatives. In some ways, though, the path is now clearer, there’s only one way forward, with no room for distraction. You don’t risk getting there whilst harbouring doubts about how you should behave. You have to be resolute in your choices and intentions. That’s what makes the difference, we need to do something that breaks the monotony, the routine. We need to take risks, keep up with the fast pace. And secure results that are crucial for us."

Kick-off is fixed for 20:45 CEST.

Ahead of the weekend’s action getting underway, the Bianconeri sit fourth in the table with 65 points and two points off third. Lecce, for their part, are 17th in the table and 4 points above the relegation zone.

Let’s get up to speed ahead of the weekend’s game with some pre-match stats.

Interesting Facts

This is the 40th match between Lecce and Juventus in Serie A, with the Bianconeri's record so far being 25 wins, four losses, and 10 draws.

Juventus have not lost any of their last 11 Serie A matches against Lecce (W7 D4) a run going all the way back to February 2011; however after a 1-1 draw in the first meeting of this season in January, the Bianconeri could draw both of their matches this season against the Apulian side for the first time ever in the competition.

In the last nine matchdays Juventus have collected 19 points (only behind Napoli's 20) and conceded only five goals.

Jérémie Boga has scored three goals in his last four Serie A away games, and has never previously scored four goals away from home in a single top-flight campaign. Since the start of March the winger has been Juventus' top scorer with four goals, and in this
period only Donyell Malen (six), Marcus Thuram (six), and Giovanni Simeone (five) have scored more in the league.

Dusan Vlahovic has been involved in four goals in his last two Serie A matches against Lecce: a brace in January 2024 and a double assist in the most recent match in April 2025. This is also the only match in which the Serbian has provided more than one assist in Serie A.

In the 2025/26 Serie A, the two forwards with the most successful dribbles wear the Juventus shirt: Kenan Yildiz (76) and Francisco Conceição (51).

Only against Roma (28) and Inter (32) have the Giallorossi recorded more defeats than against Juventus (25).

Despite not having scored more than one goal per match in their last 11 Serie A matches against Juventus (they have scored six in that period), Lecce have scored in the last three consecutive matches against the Old Lady, and could reach four for the first time in the top flight on Saturday.

Lecce have won only one of their 12 home games against Juventus in Serie A since the turn of the millennium, a 2-0 win on February 20, 2011. Since then, the Apulian side have scored only two goals in five home games against the Bianconeri in the top flight.

Lameck Banda is the Lecce player who has been directly involved in the most goals this season with seven (at least two more than any of his teammates), made up of four goals and three assists. Furthermore, after his goal in the sides' first meeting this season, Juventus could become the first team against which the 2001-born player has scored more than one goal in Serie A.

Francesco Camarda could become the fourth striker born in or after 2008 to have more than one goal in the 2025/26 Big Five European leagues, following Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha (two), Metz's Nathan Mbala (two), and PSG's Ibrahim Mbaye (two).

Thanks to the collaboration with Giuseppe Bertuccio D’Angelo of Progetto Happiness, the third edition of “Stories of Strength” has been created: a journey through the lives of three fans where “Juventinita” becomes the key value for overcoming all stigma. The aim is to break down barriers around mental health, celebrating the strength of opening up to others.

Many fans shared spontaneously deeply personal stories, speaking to us as they would to a trusted friend or family member. Their messages were not simply shares of moments of difficulty that had gone unheard: they were calls for connection that we were ready to listen to.

To shine a spotlight on these stories, we chose to collaborate with Giuseppe Bertuccio D’Angelo, founder and face of Progetto Happiness, with whom we developed the third edition of Stories of Strength. A journey that led us to meet three fans who had shared their stories online and evolved into a narrative capable of turning vulnerability into connection, through a shared value: JUVENTINITÀ.

From different countries but united by their passion for Juventus, they have all faced challenges and found the courage to share their stories and keep going. Hani, from Canada, is also a member of JOFC Toronto; Johan, from Colombia, is a member of JOFC Colombia Bianconera; and Pietro, from Italy. Three fans, three men: a choice based on data highlighted by the World Health Organization, which notes that depression is among the leading causes of suffering among males, who often express their emotions less and tend to withdraw in difficult times.

By visiting them and hearing their experiences first-hand, the goal was simple yet profound: to stand by them in difficult moments and share their resilience with millions of people who may be facing similar mental health challenges.

Launched in 2023 with the Men’s and Women’s First Teams, staff and global voices, Stories of Strength is a project that aims to break the stigma around mental health, spark dialogue and encourage sharing. In season three, Juventus chose to amplify the voices of its fans.

With the same objective, T.E.A.M. Strength (Tools for Empowerment And Mental Strength) was created: a series of talks, now in its second edition, dedicated to Juventus people. A journey designed to explore topics related to mental wellbeing, foster deeper understanding and offer practical tools to address them more consciously, in both professional and personal life. Among the themes covered, also thanks to the contribution of Giuseppe Bertuccio D’Angelo, are mindfulness techniques, intergenerational dialogue, false consensus and the concept of happiness.

Now in his third season with the Bianconeri first team, the Turkish talent continues on the path of development that has made him one of the key pieces in Coach Luciano Spalletti’s line-up.

So far this season, Yildiz has made 45 appearances across Serie A, the Champions League and the Italian Cup, hitting double figures in both goals (11) and assists (10).

In addition to his success on the pitch, the club recently decided to extend his contract until 2030, kicking off an exciting new chapter in a shared story that is yet to be completed.

Kenan has indeed won the hearts of millions of fans thanks to his class, determination and great levels of effort on the pitch, combining quality play, impressive bursts of speed and decisive contributions in the final third.

A model of leadership, sacrifice and a constant drive for improvement: everything a number 10 should be.

Best wishes, Kenan, from the whole Bianconeri family – happy birthday!

Coach Luciano Spalletti and Andrea Cambiaso spoke to the press after the match.

LUCIANO SPALLETTI

“We must always take stock of what’s happening and then try to improve for the next matches. It’s clear we’re disappointed because, with a bit more composure, we could have taken control of the match. We started well, but then we didn’t do enough to push the game forward; we let them break out a few times and create those counter-attacks that forced us to do a lot of running. You always have to keep everything under control, stay alert. We need to be the most critical of ourselves, because it’s through self-criticism that we improve.”

“There’s a lot of disappointment and frustration. It was a great opportunity that we threw away. We need to be a bit more careful; we played well today, though perhaps we lacked a bit of pace in the first half. We have to win the next three matches.”

Dusan Vlahovic's free-kick in the second half cancelled out the opening goal from Kieron Bowie.

THE MATCH REPORT

Juventus took control of the game in the opening minutes, forcing Hellas Verona onto the defensive. The first chance came from a dangerous cross by Chico Conceicao, which Lloyd Kelly met with a header that Montipo saved with ease.

The Bianconeri pressed on and tried their luck from distance with Manuel Locatelli, whose shot from the edge of the box went just wide. On the left flank, Kenan Yildiz caused havoc: a blistering burst of speed followed by a lucky rebound sent the ball to Conceicao on the opposite side. The Portuguese player struck the ball powerfully, but the visiting goalkeeper was alert and made a two-handed save.

The Bianconeri continued to press and created another great chance: Jonathan David found himself just a few yards from the goal and fired a shot, but a timely sliding tackle by Andrias Edmundsson denied Luciano Spalletti’s team the lead. Shortly after, Gleison Bremer came within inches of scoring with a splendid header off a Pierre Kalulu assist that hit the crossbar. Just as the home team is at its best, however, the moment that shifts the momentum of the first half arrives: in the 34th minute, following a misplaced clearance by the Juventus defense, Bowie scores, putting Hellas Verona ahead.

The response was immediate, and four minutes later, Khephren Thuram came close to equalising, but his header was deflected away for a corner by Victor Nelsson. The first half ended with the visitors leading 0-1.

Spalletti’s team returned to the field after halftime with great determination, determined to take control of the match right away. It took just a few minutes to create the first chance of the second half. David found space to shoot, but his attempt missed the target. Juventus’s pressure grew as the minutes passed and was finally rewarded in the 62nd minute.

Vlahovic, who had come on at the start of the second half, equalised with a perfectly struck free kick that flew straight into the net, sending the Allianz Stadium into a frenzy. Riding the wave of enthusiasm, Juventus continued to push for the lead.

Conceicao was among the most active players and, within moments, created two scoring opportunities: on two crosses from the left, the Portuguese forward tried to beat Montipo, but on both occasions, the visiting goalkeeper made the save. In the closing minutes, Juventus’s pressure was relentless.

Edon Zhegrova broke away, cut inside onto his left foot, and shot at the near post, but Montipo dived and deflected the ball onto the woodwork in the third minute of stoppage time. It’s the final chance of the match, and it ended 1-1 at the Allianz Stadium.

Let’s take a look into the standout stats to emerge from the game in Campania.

STANDOUT STATS

UPPER HAND | Of the teams that Napoli have never beaten in Serie A, Napoli have played more matches against only Milan (12 - four draws, eight losses) than against Juventus (10 - one draw, nine losses). They’ve also played 10 times against Roma, drawing twice and losing eight.

FAMILIAR | Juventus are now the side against whom Napoli have lost the most times in their history - nine.

BACK-TO-BACK | The Bianconere have won consecutive games on the road for the first time this season.

THREATS | With Ana Capeta, Lindsey Thomas and Paulina Krumbiegel all scoring, Juventus now have nine different players with at least two goals to their name this Serie A season, which is a figure bettered only by Inter (10).

IMPACT | Paulina Krumbiegel scored with her first touch in the game, just one minute and six seconds after coming off the bench.

Let’s take a look at what the boss had to say.

“I wanted to start by paying my respects to a truly unique man in terms of values in both life and sport, like Alex Zanardi. I was fortunate enough to know him, and what he passed on to us was something incredible.”

ON THE OBJECTIVES

“You finish fourth if you deserve to finish fourth. We’ve maintained our standards and you shouldn’t focus on the maths, but on the day-to-day performances. We’re doing well, and we know what we’ve been through to be in this fight for fourth. We need to think about the Champions League, not fourth place. If you think about the former, you behave like a team that has something to prove.

“The Champions League rewards those who create chaos, not those who avoid it. Modern football is heading towards risk-avoidance, but it doesn’t just pay to maintain order and a low tempo. For example, I wasn’t happy with the game in Milan. Not taking a stance is something I don’t like. We adapted to how Milan set the rules. I don’t like it, and I made that clear to the team.”

THE INDIVIDUALS

“My job relies on forming connections with the players. I like to establish those bonds, share ideas, explain certain things. Kenan Yildiz is one of those players who always plays positively, even in tough times. He’s a great player and I’m lucky to coach him.”

“Yildiz is being analysed from all angles, especially for his health. He knows how important he is to us and he wants to be with us. He’s had some inflammation; it’s about management. He’s done well in the last few training sessions and doesn’t feel any pain.”

“Dusan Vlahovic is training well, he’s a professional and a great character, and has things that we’re missing. He knows that he can make his mark in these games and contribute to what we’re working towards. We’ll need to understand the timing, but he’s available and has the right mentality.”

Kick-off in Turin is fixed for 18:00 CEST.

Ahead of the weekend’s action getting underway, the Bianconeri sit fourth in the table with 64 points and three points off third. Verona, for their part, are 19th in the table and 10 points from safety.

Let’s get up to speed ahead of the weekend’s game with some pre-match stats.

Interesting Facts

Juventus have won six of their last eight Serie A matches against Hellas Verona, keeping six clean sheets in the process, never losing.

Juventus have scored in their last 25 Serie A matches against Hellas Verona. There are only two teams that they have scored against in more consecutive matches in the league: Cagliari (26, between 1968 and 1990) and Atalanta (36, between 1997 and 2020).

Hellas Verona are the team against which Juventus have played the most home matches in Serie A without losing: 34.

Kenan Yildiz is this season's Serie A player with the most attempted (141) and successful (73) dribbles; among those who have attempted at least 100 dribbles in the current Big-5 European leagues, only Iliman Ndiaye (53%) and Yan Diomande (55%) boast a higher success rate than the Turk (52%).

Andrea Cambiaso's next match will be his 100th in Serie A for Juventus. The Bianconeri player has previously scored a goal and assisted against Hellas Verona in Serie A in 2023 and 2025 respectively.

Hellas Verona are the team against which Dusan Vlahovic has converted the most penalties in Serie A: four out of four. He has scored six goals in total against the Gialloblù in the tournament.

Hellas Verona have lost 39 of their 69 matches against Juventus in Serie A: only against Inter have they suffered more defeats (43) in the league.

Hellas Verona have won only one of their last 36 matches (D8 L27) against teams that occupied the top four spots in the league table (a 2-0 away win against fourth-placed Genoa on September 1, 2024). Since then, they have drawn three and lost 12 against these opponents, including the last two against Napoli and Milan in February and April.

Hellas Verona have won none of their 34 Serie A matches away to Juventus, only achieving five draws and 29 defeats. Against no other team have the Gialloblù played more away games without a win in the top flight.

Since his Serie A debut in the 2020/21 season, no goalkeeper has played as many regular season matches in the league as Lorenzo Montipò: 212, all as a starter. This season in the league, among goalkeepers who have played at least 15 matches, the Verona goalkeeper has the lowest save percentage with 58%. Since his Serie A debut only Mike Maignan has provided more assists (three) as a goalkeeper than Montipò (two).

Paolo Sammarco will be the 133rd coach Luciano Spalletti has faced in Serie A.

LINDSEY THOMAS

“It was a really tough game. We knew that Napoli would give their all in a game like this, and it was a huge chance for them to get a big result. We knew that we had to be ready and put in a good performance. It wasn’t perfect from us, but the important thing at this stage in the season is to take home the points. After a game as tricky as this one, all that matters is the points, and getting closer to our goal of qualifying for the Women’s Champions League. Two more games are left, and we need to approach them seriously and finish the season in the best way we can.”

MASSIMILIANO CANZI

“It was a great game, in which both teams gave their all and played at the same level, and either team could have won it. Napoli have had an incredible campaign, and we have huge respect for them. We knew we’d come here and come up against an in-form side, and this gives even more value to our win. Qualification for the Champions League isn’t mathematically achieved yet, there are 180 minutes still to play and we’ll have to give our all. That said, today was a hugely important game and the three points are vital. I have to say that the girls did well today, they were able to hold their nerve in the trickiest moments. We kept going after being pegged back twice, and I’m happy with the personality the group showed. Football isn’t just about those who start the game anymore. As we saw today, the players who come off the bench can also make a difference.”

Lindsey Thomas and Ana Capeta twice gave the Bianconere the lead in the first half, and Paulina Krumbiegel scored the game’s deciding goal in the 83rd minute.

THE MATCH REPORT

A dream start was so nearly enjoyed by the Bianconere as Mathilde Harviken picked out Michela Cambiaghi witgh a cross inside two minutes, but the forward’s effort was well stopped by Clara Beretta

Estela Carbonell continued to probe the hosts’ backline, and the opening goal came after just seven minutes through Lindsey Thomas. After nice combination play from Cambiaghi and Capeta, the French winger had a cross-turned-shot that found its way in beneath the crossbar.

But the hosts hit back quickly through Marija Banusic after an assist from Kinga Kozak.

It was 2-1 shortly after as the game’s start continued to be lively. This time Capeta capitalised on a mistake from Beretta and restored the visitors’ lead. Again, though, Napoli hit back quickly through Cecilie Floe.

Floe remained a constant threat to the Juventus defence throughout the first half and into the second as well, and she came close to putting Napoli ahead five minutes after the break.

Both Amalie Vangsgaard and Capeta pressed for a third Bianconere goal, leading the line of attack with real intent, but the fifth and final goal of the afternoon came from Krumbiegel, who had just come off the bench and was forced back off again shortly after her decisive strike through injury.

The result leaves the Bianconere now five points ahead of Napoli with two Matchdays to play, and in pole position for the third and final Women’s Champions League qualification spot.

Massimiliano Canzi spoke to the press on the eve of the match.

THE TEAM'S CONDITION AND BECCARI'S ABSENCE

"Physically, the team is doing well: unfortunately, we have to do without Chiara Beccari, a very important player for us, and we know we won't have her until the end of the season. I send her a big hug and best wishes. The girls have worked hard in training, and we know the importance of the matches that await us in these final weeks of the season, which are crucial to achieving our goals. Beccari, as a player, is unique—in fact, she was one of the players I fielded most often throughout the season. She will be difficult to replace, so we must find different solutions to compensate for her absence."

THE AWAY MATCH IN NAPLES

"With three games left in the season, Napoli are two points behind us, which means they're a top-tier club. It's an open challenge. They've improved a lot in recent months, and they've done a great job as a club and with their coaching staff. This group of players has a dangerous attack, and it'll be our job to limit their impact. We have to play our game, knowing we're facing a top-tier team, but without letting that affect us."

THE RACE TO QUALIFY FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

"Just looking at the standings is enough to understand the importance and weight of tomorrow's match, without experiencing it with added pressure: we knew Napoli would be an opponent we'd have to play against until the end of the season, and we have great respect for them. We know it will be a tough match, against a team that will do everything it can to overtake us in the standings and achieve a goal that would be extraordinary for them and is just as important and crucial as it is for us. Napoli aren't the only ones chasing qualification for the UEFA Women's Champions League behind us: for this reason too, we need to see a great Juventus on the pitch tomorrow."

Participants on the day were Viola Calligaris of our Women’s First Team and Pierre Kalulu representing the Men’s First Team, and they spent some time with 30 youngsters from the San Benedetto Parish between the ages of 12 and 14. As well as the above, there were also delegations from Juventus’ youth sector: our Under-13s girls, the boys of the same age category, and Juventus One & Youth.

The discussion on the day focused on the values of sport, and it allowed the two First Team defenders to share their experiences with the kids in attendance, emphasising the importance of collaboration and teamwork, both in football and away from the pitch as well.

The initiative follows the experience of 40 young people from the San Francesco youth center in Venaria and the Maria Ausiliatrice youth center in Villastellone at the Allianz Stadium for the Juventus-Sassuolo Men’s Serie A match. On the day of the game, they were able to soak up the stadium atmosphere.

The Philadelphia Junior Cup is a national seven-a-side tournament involving clubs from the cities of Serie A sides. All players are under the age of 14, and they also play in another match in support of the ‘Keep Racism Out’ campaign, promoted by Lega Serie A and CSI. Meetings and educational activities are part of the project, with Wednesday’s even included, to promote awareness and provide concrete tools with which to combat discrimination.

Speaking at the event, along with Calligaris and Kalulu, were Claudio Cortese and Riccardo Tinozzi from Juventus’ Psychology Department, Oumar Daffe from the Corporate Social Responsibility Office of Lega Calcio Serie A, and Maurizio Caterina, President of CSI Subalpino.

Let’s take a look at the standout stats from the game.

STALEMATE | For the first time in the history of Serie A, both matches between Milan and Juventus in a single season have ended 0-0.

SHUTOUTS | Juventus kept a clean sheet in six of their last seven Serie A matches, as many as in the previous 21 games combined. Since March 7, the Bianconeri are the team that has recorded the most clean sheets (six) in the top five European leagues.

UNBEATEN | Juventus remain unbeaten in their last eight Serie A matches (5W, 3D) and, since early March, are the only team still unbeaten in the top flight.

FANCY FEET | Francisco Conceicao successfully completed five of the six dribbles he attempted during Milan vs Juventus. In addition, the Portuguese player was involved in 14 duels, winning 10 of them, more than anyone in the match.

INVOLVED | Manuel Locatelli was the player who touched the ball the most (94) and attempted (85) and successfully completed (78) the most passes in the match between Milan and Juventus.

LUCIANO SPALLETTI

“We stuck to our game plan and tried to dictate the match, but we were a bit too slow and predictable in the first half. You always have to be on your guard against Milan. In our build-up play, we focused on pressing high up the pitch to prevent them from launching counter-attacks. This is what matches are like; we still need to win several more games to earn our place in the Champions League. It’s in these tough moments that you see who’s a true Juventus player and who isn’t.”

“We expected this sort of match, we know Milan and their style of play. We kept trying to score right until the end, but we couldn’t manage it. We drew, and now we have to focus on the upcoming matches. What do we need to do now? We need to win our next few games; if we do, we’ll definitely achieve our goal of qualifying for the Champions League.”
