Guglielmo Vicario is celebrating his first birthday in black and white, having joined Juventus this summer and immediately established himself as a key figure between the sticks. The former Tottenham goalkeeper turns 30 today, 7 October 2026.

It has been a positive start to the season for Vicario, who has started all five Serie A matches so far, three of which ended with a clean sheet and all of which Juventus went on to win. He has also been called up by manager Roberto Mancini to the Italy squad during this international break.

He is a player who has immediately demonstrated his worth and his qualities both on and off the pitch, ensuring reliability and professionalism.

Second birthday in Bianconero for Lloyd Kelly, who turns 28 today, Tuesday 6 October 2026.

Lloyd joined Juventus in January 2025, gradually establishing his place in the squad and making an important contribution in defence. He has become one of the key figures in our back line, as shown by his 69 appearances in Bianconero in less than two years, along with two goals and two assists.

He has made four appearances so far this season, all in the league, and is ready to continue helping the team both on and off the pitch.

On 2 and 3 October, Allianz Stadium hosted the second edition of “Top Athletes: Where Excellence Meets Evidence”, the International Congress promoted by J|medical, which brought together in Turin some of the leading Italian and international experts in the fields of sports medicine, rehabilitation and athletic performance.

For two days, the home of Juventus became a meeting point for doctors, physiotherapists, researchers, athletic trainers, performance professionals and nutrition specialists from leading sports, clinical and academic organisations, all united by the aim of sharing knowledge, scientific evidence and experience gained in elite sport.

The Congress opened with institutional remarks from Carlo Picco, General Director of ASL Città di Torino, Delio Scarano, CEO of J|medical, Giorgio Chiellini, Juventus Director of Football Strategy, and Stefano Cerrato, Juventus Managing Director Corporate & Finance. They welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary discussion in promoting the continuous development of medical and performance practices applied to sport.

Throughout the Congress, key topics relating to athlete health and performance were addressed, ranging from injury prevention and rehabilitation to nutrition, regenerative therapies and the decision-making processes involved in returning to competition. The extensive programme featured speakers from prestigious international institutions and sporting organisations.

One of the most eagerly anticipated moments of the event was the round-table discussion dedicated to the perspective of professional athletes. Among those taking part was Juventus captain Manuel Locatelli, alongside Australian Olympic high jump medallist Eleanor Patterson, sailor Enrico Voltolini and cycling champion Vincenzo Nibali. The athletes’ experiences highlighted how trust, communication and personalised pathways are becoming increasingly important in supporting a successful return to performance, reinforcing one of the key themes to emerge throughout the Congress.

With this second edition of “Top Athletes”, held with the support of UniCredit as main sponsor, J|medical continues its commitment to promoting research, education and the sharing of best medical and scientific practices, while Allianz Stadium once again proves itself to be a venue capable of hosting not only major sporting events, but also opportunities for discussion and development for the entire sporting community.

A special night and a return to the scoresheet for Teun Koopmeiners in a Netherlands shirt, almost two years after he last found the net for the Oranje. Starting the Nations League match against Serbia, the Bianconeri midfielder broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark with a free-kick. His left-footed effort from the side of the penalty area evaded everyone and found its way into the back of the net.

It was Koopmeiners’ fourth goal for the Netherlands – his previous one having come against Hungary in November 2024 – and he produced an excellent performance as the Dutch claimed a 2-1 victory.

Edon Zhegrova also impressed for Kosovo against Austria. The Balkan side drew 1-1, with the Bianconeri winger playing a key role in Kosovo’s goal, providing a superb assist for Asllani after an excellent move down the right flank that caused problems for the Austrian defence.

The result takes Kosovo to five points after four matches in Nations League Group G.

Juventus Women suffered a 2-1 away defeat to Milan on Matchday 2 of the 2026/27 Serie A Women season. After Martina Lenzini had given the Bianconere the lead, two late goals proved decisive for the Rossonere.

Here are the key statistics from the match.

START TO THE SEASON

This is only the third time in their history that Juventus have failed to record two wins in the opening two Serie A matches of a season. The Bianconere have picked up one win and one defeat, after previously recording one win and one draw in 2022/23 and one draw and one defeat in 2025/26.

THE RECORD AGAINST MILAN

For the first time in Serie A, Juventus have gone three consecutive matches without a win against Milan. The Bianconere have lost their last three league meetings with the Rossonere, as many defeats as they had suffered in their first 17 matches against them in the competition, when they recorded 11 wins and three draws.

AWAY RUN COMES TO AN END

The defeat against Milan brought Juventus’ six-match unbeaten run away from home in Serie A to an end, a sequence consisting of four wins and two draws. The Bianconere’s previous away league defeat had come against Inter last January.

THE NUMBERS AWAY FROM HOME

Juventus have conceded six goals in their last four Serie A away matches, just one fewer than the seven they conceded across the previous eight. Milan also became the fourth opponent against whom the Bianconere have gone at least three consecutive away matches without a win, with one draw and two defeats. It had previously happened against Lyon (three matches), Inter (four) and Roma (four).

LENZINI AND MILAN

With the goal that temporarily put Juventus ahead, Milan became the first opponent against whom Martina Lenzini has scored more than once in Serie A. The captain has scored two goals against the Rossonere in the competition, both while wearing the Juventus shirt.

The Women's First Team suffered a late defeat against AC Milan on Serie A Women Matchday 2.

The 2-1 defeat came after Martina Lenzini had put the Bianconere ahead, but two late Rossonere goals meant the points stayed at the Centro Vismara.

Isaac Guerrero spoke to the press after the match.

“We struggled a bit in the first half. We lacked consistency and Milan were a cut above us. In the second half, we sorted a few things out and started to find more space, creating several goal-scoring opportunities. I think the first half belonged to them, whilst the second half was more ours, with two or three very clear chances that could have put us ahead.

"We were also a bit unlucky with the incident involving [Federica] D’Auria, who had to leave the pitch temporarily, and it was in her area that we conceded the goal. But we must keep our heads up and carry on working. These girls are doing very well. Today wasn’t our best match, but I’m sure we’ll continue to grow as a team and be back to our best when we face Como.

"The demands of the Champions League? Everything plays a part. It’s been a very demanding start to the season, both physically and emotionally, with lots of travelling, but I don’t want that to become an excuse because we have a very competitive squad. The players who came on today and those who played in the Champions League in Gothenburg did well and kept the standard high.

"Then there are the circumstances of the match, and there’s also the opposition to consider. We’re in a top-class league and Milan did well. I think it could have ended in a draw, but we must also give credit to Milan.

"Finishing? Sometimes you create loads of chances and don’t score; other times you create two or three chances and convert them all. We’re good in front of goal, we’re clinical in the opposition’s box. Today the ball just wouldn’t go in, partly down to a bit of bad luck, but that’s football. Obviously, we’re working on this too, just as we are on everything else, but we’ve got plenty of talent to convert these chances. It didn’t happen today, and it’s not the girls’ fault. Sometimes a match is like flipping a coin – heads or tails. Today it came up tails.”

The Women's First Team suffered a late defeat against AC Milan on Serie A Women Matchday 2, with the Rossonere winning 2-1.

Juventus took the lead at the Centro Vismara through Martina Lenzini, but late goals from Thea Kyvag and Monica Renzotti saw the points stay in Lombardy.

A TIGHT FIRST HALF

It was Milan who created the first chance after six minutes, when Mawa Sesay had an effort on goal only to be denied by Larissa Rusek. The Rossonere tried again in the 14th minute through Ewelina Kamczyk, whose volley from the edge of the box went just wide.

Juventus responded three minutes later through Emma Stolen Godo, who fired a left-footed shot towards goal but failed to trouble Sandra Estevez. In the 20th minute, Milan came close again as Sara Stokic capitalised on a Juventus error and shot, but Rusek intercepted and saved.

In the 32nd minute, Juve began to grow into the game. Remina Chiba tried her luck from the right and Estevez tipped the ball away for a corner. From the resulting corner, it was Stolen Godo who once again tested the Rossonere goalkeeper. Before half-time, there was also a chance for Sara Kanutte Fornes, whose header went over the bar. The teams went into the dressing rooms with the score at 0–0.

JUVE COME CLOSE TO SCORING, THEN LENZINI

Juventus started the second half strongly and created a great chance in the 50th minute. Eva Schatzer played in Alba Redondo, whose left-footed shot struck the inside of the post. Amaiur Sarriegi pounced on the ball, but Nadine Sorelli cleared it off the line. Play was then halted for offside, a decision confirmed following a VAR review.

Milan’s response was immediate. Christy Grimshaw tested Rusek and, in the ensuing move, Marta Mascarello hit the post. In the 60th minute, Stolen Godo tried her luck with a header, but sent the ball over the bar.

The Bianconere continued to press for the lead and, in the 71st minute, Sarriegi posed a threat on two occasions in the same move, without finding the net.

The goal finally came in the 80th minute. Sarriegi picked out Redondo, who tried to take on a defender before laying the ball off to Martina Lenzini. The captain fired home the winning goal to put Juventus ahead.

DEFEAT AT THE END

Just when Juventus seemed to have the game under control, Milan turned it around in the space of a few minutes. In the 86th minute, Kyvag launched a counter-attack and, facing Rusek, scored to make it 1-1.

Barely two minutes later, the Rossonere took the lead. Renzotti aimed for goal with a curling shot, Cecilia Salvai deflected the ball with her head, and it ended up beyond Rusek and the score was 2-1.

Juventus tried to fight back during the eight minutes of added time and, in the 95th minute, had a good chance through Sarriegi, who, from a promising position, sent the ball over the bar.

When the final whistle blew, it was Milan who were celebrating. The match ended 2–1 at the Vismara, with Juventus suffering a late comeback defeat.

The Women's First Team are back in Serie A action with a trip to face AC Milan on Sunday, October 4 at 15:00 CEST.

Head coach Isaac Guerrero spoke to the press ahead of the match to preview the action.

THE VICTORY IN SWEDEN

“The result we achieved in Gothenburg was crucial, especially after a Champions League opener where we deserved more given our performance on the pitch. We faced the reigning European Cup champions, a very aggressive and physical side. The girls showed tremendous character and quality. After a spell in the first half when our opponents tried to overwhelm us with their intensity, we did well not to panic, to regain control of the game and to secure a clear and fully deserved victory.”

ROSUCCI'S RENEWAL

“I have nothing but good things to say about Martina [Rosucci]. I’m absolutely delighted for her. She deserves this contract extension and she also deserves her return to the national team. This extension is excellent news for the team too, as they know they can count on a captain like her for a long time to come. Opposition Focus

• Thea Kyvag is the only player currently at Milan to have scored a goal against Juventus in Serie A whilst wearing the Rossonere colours.

Juventus' friendly against Cremonese at the Juventus Training Center ended in a 1-0 defeat, with Bonazzoli's 12th-minute goal proving decisive. The Bianconeri increased the pressure in the second half and went close to an equaliser on several occasions late on, also hitting the post through Durmisi.

THE FIRST HALF

Juventus looked to take control of possession from the opening minutes, with Cambiaso operating in a central position in front of the defence. The first promising move came in the seventh minute when Kolo Muani found Kelly on the left. His ball into the box was intercepted by Pezzella, who got there ahead of everyone and conceded a corner.

Cremonese, however, took the lead in the 12th minute. Pezzella won the ball back on the edge of his own penalty area and launched the visitors' counter-attack. Elia found Licina, who played Bonazzoli through, and the forward made no mistake in front of Pinsoglio to make it 1-0.

A minute later, Pinsoglio was called into action twice in quick succession, producing two excellent saves to deny first Elia and then Barbieri and prevent Cremonese from immediately doubling their advantage.

Juve looked to push higher up the pitch and created their best opportunity of the first half in the 27th minute. Amaradio received the ball and fired a right-footed effort across goal, beating Agazzi but sending his diagonal strike narrowly wide.

In the 34th minute, Kolo Muani was picked out by Cambiaso and took on Luperto before going to ground following contact with the Cremonese defender, but the referee waved play on. Cremonese remained compact in the closing stages of the half, limiting the Bianconeri's space and going into the break with a one-goal advantage.

JUVE PUSH IN THE SECOND HALF

Spalletti rotated his options extensively during the second half, giving several Juventus Next Gen players minutes on the pitch. The Bianconeri looked to increase the tempo and pressure, while Cremonese sought to manage their advantage through prolonged spells of possession.

In the 59th minute, Kolo Muani went to ground again inside the Cremonese penalty area following another challenge, but once more the referee allowed play to continue. Shortly afterwards, Makiobo picked out the Frenchman with an excellent long pass. Kolo Muani crossed towards Amaradio, but the Cremonese defence recovered with a perfectly timed intervention.

As the minutes passed, Juve began to spend more time in the opposition half. In the 72nd minute, Herzuah burst forward and got a shot away without finding the target, while four minutes later Radu comfortably dealt with Vandeputte's deflected right-footed effort.

Juventus continued to search for an equaliser and, in the 79th minute, Marchisio looked for Guerra from a free-kick, only for Fulignati to race off his line and get there first.

The Bianconeri's best opportunities came in the closing stages. In the 86th minute, Corigliano put the finishing touch to a fine Juventus move before Durmisi's deflected cross-shot struck the outside of the post to Fulignati's left.

Three minutes later, Juve went desperately close to making it 1-1. Ripani collected the ball on the edge of the penalty area and unleashed a powerful left-footed strike that flew narrowly wide.

The Bianconeri kept pushing in stoppage time. In the 91st minute, Montero switched play to the left, with Herzuah forced to turn the ball behind for a corner. A minute later, Guerra won a dangerous free-kick, with Barros shown the first yellow card of the match for the foul. Marchisio stepped up in the 93rd minute and went directly for goal with his right foot, but Fulignati dived across to keep out the effort heading towards the far post.

It proved to be the final opportunity of the match. At the final whistle, Cremonese secured a 1-0 victory at the Juventus Training Center, with Bonazzoli's 12th-minute goal from Licina's assist deciding the contest.

An important victory and a memorable night for Juventus Women, who reached further milestones in their European history against Häcken.

Let's take a look at the standout numbers from the UEFA Women's Champions League clash.

100 UP FOR JUVENTUS

Tatiana Pinto's goal against Häcken was Juventus Women's 100th goal in the competition.

The Portuguese midfielder continues to make her mark in Europe: since the start of last season, she has scored six Champions League goals, including qualifying, at least three more than any other Juventus player over the same period.

STRONG ON THE ROAD

For the first time in their history, excluding qualifying and preliminary rounds, Juventus have gone unbeaten in four consecutive Champions League away matches, recording three wins and one draw.

The victory over Häcken was also their first away win in the competition without conceding since the 5-0 victory over St. Pölten last December.

Across all competitions, the Bianconere have now won three consecutive away matches while keeping a clean sheet in each for the first time since the period between February and October 2020, when they recorded a run of five.

150 CLEAN SHEETS

The shutout against Häcken was the 150th clean sheet in Juventus Women's history – a record among Serie A teams across all competitions since the Bianconere entered the Italian top flight in 2017/18.

Juventus have already kept six clean sheets this season, the most of any Serie A side across all competitions.

GODØ MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW

Emma Stølen Godø scored for a second consecutive appearance across all competitions, following her Serie A goal against Napoli. It is the first time she has scored in back-to-back appearances since joining Juventus.

Her two goals in her last two appearances are as many as she had scored in her previous 32 matches for the Bianconere.

On Wednesday, 30 September, Juventus Academy Armenia was officially inaugurated: a project of significant sporting and educational value that brings the Club’s methodology and values to the country.

Announced in September 2025 in the presence of David Trezeguet, the project officially got underway with a high-profile inaugural ceremony. The event was attended by leading representatives of Armenian institutions and UEFA, the presidents of the Armenian and Georgian Football Federations, Peter Silverstone, Chief Business Officer of Juventus, and Juventus legend Fabrizio Ravanelli.

From its earliest stages, the project has generated extraordinary enthusiasm and has already welcomed around 700 boys and girls. The young players’ technical and personal development will be guided by a team of 14 Italian coaches, ready to share the Club’s methodology and values.

The Academy operates across two centres of excellence, both equipped with high-level facilities designed to provide a complete development experience:

• Avan Complex: a modern, multifunctional centre featuring one 11-a-side artificial turf pitch, one 9-a-side artificial turf pitch, and two 7-a-side artificial turf pitches, along with two 5-a-side artificial turf pitches on the rooftop. The complex also includes a fully equipped gym, 20 apartments, an operational nursery and kindergarten, as well as a bar and restaurant area.

• Hrazdan Complex: an iconic venue featuring a main stadium with a capacity of approximately 1,500 seats and suites, one full-size 11-a-side natural grass pitch, one 9-a-side pitch, and one 5-a-side artificial turf pitch. Once completed, the complex will also include a hotel and a medical centre.

With this opening, Armenia is not simply inaugurating new football pitches: it is bringing to life the dreams of hundreds of young players, ready to take to the field and write an exciting new chapter in the black and white story together.

The Juventus Under-21 select side suffered a narrow defeat at the Riverside Stadium in their opening match of the 2026/27 Premier League International Cup. Middlesbrough claimed a 1-0 victory, with Campbell scoring the decisive goal in the second half. It was a balanced encounter in which the Bianconeri had opportunities to break the deadlock but were unable to find the back of the net.

AN EVEN FIRST HALF

The hosts were the first to threaten, with Ibeh trying his luck in the fifth minute, before McCabe fired from distance three minutes later and forced Fuscaldo into a fine diving save to turn the ball behind for a corner.

Juventus responded in the 15th minute through Merola, who cut inside from the left onto his right foot and tried a curling effort which was on target but caused Connor few problems.

As the half progressed, the Bianconeri Under-21 select side began to gain ground, keeping possession and looking to use the width of the pitch when building from the back. In the 25th minute, however, Fuscaldo was again called into action to deny Middlesbrough: Smith crossed from the left for Coulson, whose effort was met by a sharp save from the Juventus goalkeeper.

Juve increased the pressure in the latter stages of the half and created one of their best opportunities just before the break, with Merola going close to opening the scoring. The two sides headed into half-time with the score still 0-0.

JUVE PUSH, CAMPBELL DECIDES THE CONTEST

Juventus looked to raise the tempo after the restart. In the 59th minute, Leone fired towards goal, but Connor was able to deal with his effort. Shortly afterwards, Padoin made four changes, introducing Okolo, Vallana, Bellino and Tiozzo Pagio.

The Bianconeri continued to push for the opening goal. In the 73rd minute, Bellino won a corner and, from the resulting delivery, Brugarello tried his luck from inside the penalty area but sent his effort over the crossbar. Five minutes later, Merola picked out Bellino with an excellent switch of play, with the substitute volleying off target before the move was also halted for offside.

Juventus kept pushing and in the 82nd minute Bellino tested Connor, who managed to keep out his effort. At the other end, however, the decisive moment of the match arrived shortly afterwards: Campbell struck a right-footed effort that hit the crossbar before finding the back of the net to give Middlesbrough the lead.

The Juventus Under-21 select side looked for an equaliser in the closing stages, but the score remained unchanged. It finished Middlesbrough 1-0 Juventus at the Riverside Stadium in the Bianconeri's opening match of the 2026/27 Premier League International Cup.

Juventus Women secured a 3-0 away win over BK Häcken: Pinto broke the deadlock in the 57th minute, Stolen Godø doubled the advantage in the 76th minute and Redondo wrapped up the victory in the 88th minute.

AN EVEN FIRST HALF WITH HÄCKEN THREATENING

Juventus started on the front foot, immediately looking to push into the opposition half, and in the third minute Redondo's effort took a deflection off the Swedish defence to earn the Bianconere the first corner of the match. The Spaniard tried again in the 10th minute, turning inside the box before firing over, while three minutes later Stolen Godø tested Karlsson with a powerful effort.

As the minutes passed, however, Häcken began to take control of the game. In the 15th minute Tindell went close to opening the scoring with a header that flew narrowly wide, before Anvegård fired off target a minute later. The hosts continued to enjoy possession and, in the 18th minute, De Jong and the Juventus defence managed to deal with a dangerous situation from a set piece.

Juventus struggled to find space against a well-organised Häcken side. On the half-hour mark, Sylla made a well-timed intervention to halt a potentially dangerous Swedish attack, while in the 35th minute the Bianconere defence deflected Bodin's attempt behind for a corner. Shortly afterwards, Tindell was unable to reach a cross towards the far post.

Juve threatened again towards the end of the half, with Sarriegi firing into the side-netting in the 44th minute. Before the break, Salvai made a crucial intervention to stop a Häcken counter-attack. The two sides headed into the dressing rooms with the score still 0-0.

PINTO BREAKS THE DEADLOCK

The hosts again came out aggressively after the restart. In the 48th minute Selerud found herself in a promising position but failed to make clean contact with the ball, while two minutes later Tindell's dangerous cross travelled across the penalty area without finding a teammate.

Juventus held firm and took the lead in the 57th minute. Sarriegi delivered an excellent ball into the middle and Pinto was in the right place to beat Karlsson and make it 1-0. It was a landmark goal too: Juventus Women's 100th in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The goal changed the momentum of the contest. The Bianconere grew in confidence and began to manage possession more effectively, while still having to contain Häcken's response. Juventus then went very close to doubling their lead in the 65th minute when Carbonell's cross took a dangerous trajectory and struck the post.

STOLEN GODØ AND REDONDO SEAL THE WIN

Häcken increased the pressure in search of an equaliser, but Juventus stood firm and struck again in the 76th minute. Schatzer delivered a perfect cross and Stolen Godø met it with a precise header to make it 2-0. After a lengthy VAR check, the goal was confirmed.

The hosts continued to push forward and in the 81st minute Stolen Godø also made an important contribution at the other end of the pitch, getting ahead of Ogochukwu as she prepared to shoot from close range.

Juventus managed the closing stages with composure and put the result beyond doubt in the 88th minute: Redondo found herself one-on-one with Karlsson and kept her cool to make it 3-0.

Häcken refused to give up and Anvegård went close twice in stoppage time, first forcing a save from De Jong before seeing a curling effort crash against the crossbar in the 93rd minute.

It was the final major chance of the match. At the final whistle, the score was BK Häcken 0-3 Juventus Women, with the Bianconere returning from Sweden with a victory secured by a clinical second-half performance after a demanding opening 45 minutes.

POST-MATCH REACTIONS

ISAAC GUERRERO

“We’re happy because this team has shown that it knows how to play, how to fight and how to suffer. The difficult moments were mainly down to the intensity of our opponents, a team that plays at a high tempo, presses high and sometimes pushes things to the limit. I think we started the game very well, showing personality in possession. We perhaps needed to attack the last line a little more to pose a greater threat and stretch the opposition. In the second half we tried to address that: the balance is always very fine, because if you start playing a little more directly, you can lose some of the fluidity in your game. The girls did an excellent job of maintaining that balance and, after the break, they managed to find the spaces we had been missing without losing sight of our style of play. I’m extremely happy for them because they deserve it. Throughout the week, we also stressed the importance of being able to suffer: we want to be a team that takes the initiative, but also one that knows how to ‘get its hands dirty’, so to speak. Those two things are not in conflict; they complement each other. We’re learning and growing as a team. Even in the first half, it was difficult to play against relentless pressure and with the home crowd really getting behind their team, but the girls didn’t start simply giving the ball away: they maintained their intensity, did what they needed to do and showed hunger as well. Tati is always there, she consistently performs at a high level and helps us enormously because she’s a very dynamic player: she drops in to receive the ball and gives continuity to our play. She’s also very good at reading the spaces in behind the defensive line, and that’s very important for us. She scores important goals and today’s also came thanks to a great piece of play from Maite Oroz to help us break the deadlock. Tati is a very experienced player and she’s performing at a very high level. Her contribution makes her a very complete player: she can drop deeper to take part in the build-up, but she can also attack the last line and give us the depth we need to stretch the opposition.”

EMMA STØLEN GODØ

“I’m very happy. We started our European campaign well, but we knew we could do better, and today we played a really good game. Winning 3-0 and taking all three points makes us very happy. We knew it would be a difficult match, on an artificial pitch and in European competition. I think the first goal helped us and, as the game went on, we managed to gain more and more control. Sometimes you need a little time to find the right rhythm, but today we picked up three important points. My goal? It came from a perfect cross from Eva Schatzer: I just had to be there, and I’m very happy that I was.”

TATIANA PINTO

“I think it was a very solid performance. We started very well, then Häcken stepped up their pressing and there was a spell of around 20 minutes when we could have done better. Overall, though, I think we dominated the game: we had more possession and created more chances, so I’m very happy with our performance. The most important thing for us is our idea, our DNA: we want to dominate games. If we execute what we’ve prepared well and remain patient, the goals will come, and they did today. Now we go back to Turin and continue taking things one game at a time. First, though, we have to enjoy these three points because winning is never easy.”

“Receiving the MVP award was a surprise, I wasn’t expecting it, but I want to share it with all my teammates because today we played a really good game against a very strong team. It wasn’t easy: we struggled a little at the beginning, but by continuing to believe in our style of play and in the way we want to play football, we managed to find our rhythm. Juventus Women are set for their second match of the 2026/27 UEFA Women's Champions League League Phase, with a trip to Sweden to take on BK Häcken.

The Bianconere will take to the pitch on Wednesday, 30 September at 18:45 CEST to face the Swedish side, following their European opener against Benfica on 22 September. It represents another important step in the continental journey of Isaac Guerrero's side.

JUVENTUS' EUROPEAN JOURNEY

Juventus reached the League Phase after successfully navigating the qualifying rounds. Following a 3-1 victory over Hammarby, the Bianconere faced St. Pölten in the third qualifying round, winning 3-0 in Austria before drawing the return leg 1-1.

The League Phase began on 22 September with a home match against Benfica, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Portuguese side.

Guerrero's team head into the European fixture on the back of a 3-1 victory over Napoli in their opening Serie A Women match of the season.

THE OPPOSITION: BK HÄCKEN

Awaiting Juventus in Sweden are BK Häcken, coached by Elena Sadiku, who began their League Phase campaign with a 1-0 away defeat against Inter.

The Gothenburg-based club boast considerable experience in the UEFA Women's Champions League and enjoyed a particularly impressive European campaign in the 2023/24 season. That year, Häcken reached the quarter-finals after finishing second in a highly competitive group featuring Chelsea, Paris FC and Real Madrid.

The Swedish side collected 11 points from six matches, recording three wins – against Paris FC and twice against Real Madrid – as well as two draws, away at Chelsea and at home against Paris FC. Their only defeat in the group stage came against Chelsea. Their European journey then came to an end in the quarter-finals against Paris Saint-Germain.

Sadiku's squad includes several players with international experience. Among them are Swedish goalkeeper Jennifer Falk, Australia's Aivi Luik and, in attack, Anna Anvegård and American forward Tabitha Tindell.

The match against Juventus will be Häcken's first home fixture of the 2026/27 League Phase. After beginning their campaign away to Inter in Milan, the Swedish side will make their home debut against the Bianconere.

Häcken and Juventus therefore head into their second League Phase fixture both looking to pick up their first points of the European campaign.

Ahead of Juventus Women’s UEFA Women’s Champions League away fixture against BK Häcken, scheduled for Wednesday, 30 September at 18:45 CEST, Julia Bartel and Head Coach Isaac Guerrero spoke at the pre-match press conference.

“My first few months at Juventus have been very positive and settling in has been easy. The culture and the people are very similar to what I was used to in Spain, and everyone has helped me from day one. The team is improving game by game, and that is the most important thing. Having other Spanish teammates in the squad certainly helps during the initial adaptation period, but the truth is that the whole group has made me feel very welcome.

“Everyone brings something different and valuable to the team, and the understanding we have off the pitch is then reflected in our performances on it.

“As a team, we want to compete and fight to win every possible trophy. The result against Benfica did not fully reflect the performance we produced on the pitch, but we are aware of the areas in which we need to improve.

“We go into this match on the back of a very positive period: the players are expressing our footballing ideas well. Our main challenge remains imposing our style of play, taking to the pitch with the right attitude and with the desire to turn good performances into positive results.

“Both in the Italian league and in Europe, we come up against high-quality opponents. Serie A Women and all the domestic competitions prepare us in the best possible way to compete at a high level in Europe as well. Juventus continue their preparations ahead of the return to action following the international break in Serie A and European club competitions, with the Bianconeri’s next competitive fixture scheduled for Sunday 11 October at 20:45 CEST away to Cagliari.

The 2004-born midfielder has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2029, and these were her first impressions as a Bianconera:

“My first impression is that Turin is a really beautiful city. And, of course, this Club has an incredible history and operates at the very highest level. My teammates and all the staff have been really kind and very welcoming to me.

“I also played in Chicago with Julia Grosso, who played here. I spoke to her a lot and she told me how much she enjoyed her time here and how the experience helped her grow and improve as a player. All of that helped me make my decision and say: ‘Okay, I want to come here.’”

HER STRENGTHS

“I would say my main characteristic on the pitch is my aggression defensively, combined with great determination when in possession. Among my strengths, I would definitely highlight the variety in my shooting and my ability to take on and win one-on-one duels.”

HER EXPERIENCE IN THE USA

“The step up from college to the NWSL was huge. Especially in my first year, I found the physical side of the game very challenging: the tempo was intense and the players were fast and very strong. I had to work a lot on my physicality, but by my second year I had adapted much better, and that helped me manage duels, particularly when playing as a central midfielder or in a more advanced midfield role.

“As for the Italian league, and Juventus in particular, there is much more emphasis on possession-based football. Here, I’m asked to show more control, quality and precision when keeping the ball. They are two different styles – physicality on the one hand, possession and controlling the tempo on the other – so it will take me a little time to adapt, but I believe I can make a valuable contribution in terms of technique and ball management.”

ANOTHER JAPANESE PLAYER IN THE SQUAD

“Before coming here, Chiba and I had never met in person, although I knew of her because she is part of the national-team setup. I spoke to her a little and she confirmed that she is really happy here, that the level is high and that the environment is fantastic. She helped me understand the atmosphere within the team before I arrived.”

THE CHALLENGE AHEAD IN BIANCONERO

“On a personal level, I want to settle into the league and my new surroundings as quickly as possible, while trying to earn more opportunities and minutes on the pitch so that I can continue to grow.

Norberto Neto is back in a Juventus shirt. The Brazilian goalkeeper returns to the Bianconeri, signing a deal until 30 June 2027.

Born in 1989, Neto previously represented Juventus between 2015 and 2017, making 22 appearances across two seasons and winning two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia trophies and one Italian Super Cup.

After his time in Turin, the Brazilian goalkeeper continued his international career, spending five years in Spain with Valencia and Barcelona, followed by three seasons in England with Bournemouth and Arsenal, before returning to Brazil last season with Botafogo.

Welcome back to Juventus, Norberto!

A world title, with the captain’s armband: Cristina Librán is an Under-20 World Champion with Spain!

The Bianconere midfielder, captain of the Spanish national team, lifted the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after the tournament held in Poland. In the final in Łódź, Spain overcame North Korea on penalties to return to the top of the world in the age category, four years after their 2022 triumph.

It was a tournament to remember for Librán, who led her national team all the way to the title. The 2006-born midfielder had already captained Spain at Under-19 level, winning the European Championship in 2025 and also scoring in the final victory over France.

The World Cup in Poland also brought another individual achievement: in the quarter-final against Brazil, Cristina was named Player of the Match, helping Spain book their place in the semi-final, where they went on to beat Italy 2-0.

Having joined Juventus from Madrid CFF in the summer of 2025, Librán has now added another prestigious trophy to her young international career.
