After Alessandro Matri’s superb first-half strike earned Juventus victory in this evening’s clash with Atalanta, Bianconeri assistant manager Angelo Alessio reiterated the players’ desire to surpass Fabio Capello’s record by winning their remaining two games against Cagliari and Sampdoria.

Speaking to the media after tonight’s 1-0 triumph, the 48-year-old said: “We’re going to try our very best to beat Capello’s record. This evening we managed to win a very difficult match. Credit to the lads who always train really hard and ensure they’re in shape for the game.”

Alessio concluded by lauding the team’s determined performance against a combative Nerazzurri side vying to preserve their top-flight status.

“Over the last two years, this group has been amazing and really embraced the club’s hard-working culture. Coming here and winning against an Atalanta side fighting for survival was no easy task.”
